Our favorite Met Gala 2016 looks + drugstore recos under P500

The Met Gala is the biggest event in the fashion industry. Celebrities and fashion bigwigs, all dressed to the nines, gather for a night of fundraising for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. It's a spectacle to watch out for every year, but not just for fashion aficionados. Beauty lovers can get fabulous #FOTD inspiration from the attendees, too!

If there's a Best Dressed List, there should definitely a Best Faced List, too. And because we don't want to leave you hanging, we’re sharing our favorite beauty looks with some product recommendations to help you recreate them!

Kristen Stewart

If there was someone who kept with the theme Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology beauty-wise, it would be Kristen Stewart. Her look is definitely futuristic, but not something you can’t pull off right now. If you have a bold heart to don edgy looks, try this one out! Stewart’s makeup artist Jillian Dempsey started with a silver cream shadow as a base before putting a glittery powder eyeshadow on top to achieve this stand-out look.

Copy this eye-catching eye look with the help of Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Audacious Asphalt (P375). It's a deeper flashy silver that is more wearable for Asian skin.

Adriana Lima

Adriana Lima’s look is the complete opposite of Kristen Stewart’s style. The model opted for a classic Hollywood look, which many might think boring - but it works! It's the kind of look that would be great for any occasion, but what made this look special is the sharp, lined eyes that you can see from a mile away. Outline your eyes with the help of Maybelline’s HyperSharp Wing Liner (P399), put on your best red lippie, and you're paparazzi-ready.

Rachel McAdams

Rachel McAdams does no wrong. She’s sure to stand out at any red carpet event she attends, and the Met Gala was no exception. The actress, whom many love for her role in “The Notebook,” donned an intricately patterned gold gown. Her makeup artist, who also happens to be her sister, took inspiration from the dress and turned Rachel into a golden goddess with rich red lips. The gold eyeliner under her eyes gives a subtle hint of glam to her look. It’s the kind of makeup accent that doesn’t beg for attention but makes you nod in agreement when you see it. So line your waterline with the Yadah Auto Gel Linef in Rich Gold (P395 in Beauty Bar) for a hint of sparkle that’s pleasant and not overpowering.

Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee Steinfeld’s look for the night is the perfect example of getting away with breaking makeup rules. We all know how hard it is to pull off a look as busy as hers - smokey eyes, slightly contoured face and dark lips - but she took the risk and ran with it. An otherwise simple smokey eye look became bold, semi-gothic yet chic when she paired it with a bold lip.

If you’re ready to take a risk like Hailee, reach for Pink Sugar's Creamy Matte Lipstick in Sangria (P349) for your next smoky or bold eye look.

Kate Bosworth

Kate Bosworth also went the bold route and paired a striking eyeshadow color with an attention-grabbing lip color, but what really caught our eye is her glow. She looks like a sun goddess, who came down from her resting place to grace us with the sight of her flawless and gloriously glowing skin.

We know you want a goddess-like glow, too! So, try out the Ellana Mineral Blush in Butter Rum (P299). You can use it to highlight and bronze your complexion, as well as eyeshadow.

Rita Ora

The touch of silver in the inner corners of Rita Ora’s eyes were definitely striking. But can we talk about how she looked like she was glowing from within? Unlike Kate, she wasn’t highlighted to a tee, but her skin looked radiant and healthy. And when you have a perfect base, everything will just follow.

Want bright yet matte skin like Rita? Try applying any of our primer recommendations under P500 before you put on your face base. The primer will make it last longer, too!

Which look is your favorite? Did we miss one that you think deserves to be on this list, too? Share away!
