Killer combo: L'Oreal True Match BB Cream + Super Moist-Keep Powder Foundation

Someone once told me that people change, but not by much. We are who we've always been inside. It may be buried under fancy clothes, cool friends, the pretensions we wrap around ourselves unknowingly - but those are just layers. We don't really change the core of our identity. Perhaps we can't.

This was made apparent to me last Saturday as I was out to breakfast with my friend. We parked in front of a hipstery, slightly fancy coffee shop, the kind which I normally love to go to...but not if there's a cheap tapsihan across the street. I made a beeline for the 65-peso tapsilog and I was so, so happy! My friend can keep his salmon and brie cheese sandwich for all I care.

I did have a salted caramel latte though.

Anyway, today I'd like to quickly rave about my current foundation combo: the L'Oreal True Match Skin Idealizing BB Cream (P899) and the Super Moist-Keep Powder Foundation (P899). I get compliments on how nice my skin is and people always ask what I'm wearing when I have these on! You'll see what I mean when you get to my FOTD later.

But first, a little something about the products: the True Match Skin Idealizing BB Cream is an amazing skin enhancer that has light to medium coverage. It also has SPF35 PA+++ - always a good thing to have in something you intend to use everyday! There are three shades, with the medium one G2 Gold BB as my shade match. It's a bit light upon application but blends in after half an hour.

The first time I used this, it felt like a high-end foundation. I wish it were my exact shade but for the price and gorgeous finish, I don't mind waiting for it to oxidise a bit.

The L'Oreal True Match Super Moist-Keep Foundation is also a revelation. It's a powder with a creamy, smooth finish. It's not matte, more like it makes skin slightly dewy and cushy. It's great for retouching on the go because of it comes in a slim classy compact.

Here's what the BB Cream + Moist Keep Foundation looks like together!

Yes I don't believe it either. My makeup looked this nice in person too!

I'm using G5 Golden Beige by the way. I'm a MAC NC35, medium yellow for your reference.

As for staying power, this combo fades after about seven hours, but it can definitely be extended by up to 13 hours with retouching (in my experience).. I wore it last Saturday from 9am to 10pm and it didn't disappoint! I just removed any excess oil before patting on some of the power where needed.

Overall, I highly recommend these two L'Oreal bases to anyone who loves a fresh, well-hydrated, and subtly glowing look for their skin. They're best for combi to dry types. Try 'em soon! L'Oreal is on sale until May 31 so don't miss the discount. I believe they're only P600 each at the moment! ^_^

What do you think? Have you tried these before?
