Here's another affordable micellar water at only P0.90 per ml

When it comes to removing the makeup from our faces, micellar water is probably our top pick at Project Vanity. It’s easy, refreshing and feels soothing on the skin. Thing is, cult fave Bioderma is expensive locally while Bifesta seems to go out of stock pretty quickly. We found a great cheap solution in Maybelline but it looks like it now has some competition! L’Oreal has finally released their own take on micellar water, and we were happy to learn that they offer variants according to skin type.

The L’Oreal Micellar Water 3-in-1 (P225) is one of the most affordable removers in the market right now. At P0.90 per mil, it's about the same price as Maybelline's micellar water, which is P199/200ml or P.99 per mil. L'Oreal's Moisturizing pink variant contains French Rose Extract to nourish dry skin, while the Refreshing blue one has a 95% Pure Water formula to ensure that it doesn’t leave skin with a greasy feeling.

The other amazing thing about this #MicellarMiracle is that both variants can be used on sensitive skin as well. The formulations are proudly alcohol-free, oil-free, fragrance-free, and hypo-allergenic while promising to cleanse, remove makeup, and soothe all at once. This is one multitasking cleanser!

To ensure that I used the right variant, my skin was tested with the High Technology L'Oreal Paris Skin Care Analyzer for its hydration, elasticity, and sebum levels. These will also be available at leading L'Oreal counters so their skincare advisors can give you a quick skin analysis and help you decide on which is best for you. My “results” were then handed in this eye-catching report: I was diagnosed to have oily skin! This came as bit of a shock as I usually have dry skin but the weather has been making it feel a little different. Now I know why!

I’ve used the pink variant a couple of times to remove light makeup, oil, and dirt and it seems to be doing a good cleaning job. Liquid lipsticks come off easily without leaving my skin feeling stripped of moisture after. I’ll definitely be trying the blue variant next to see if my skin has indeed changed.

Compared to the other two micellar waters in my stash (Maybelline and Bioderma Sensibio), the L'Oreal Micellar Water has no discernible scent. I also did a swatch, soak, and swipe test using my dependable waterproof eyeliner and while it wasn't as quick in makeup removal as the more expensive option, I would still get the L'Oreal water because of the price point. We tend to use up micellar waters fast anyway so an affordable quality option is a great deal for us beauty lovers.

L'Oreal's Micellar Water is available in 250ml bottles for only P225. There’s a generous amount of product for a very reasonable price, plus you can choose a formula that addresses your skin’s needs.

How do you take off your makeup? Have you tried micellar water? You should, if you haven't yet! It's a life-changing product, at least for the PV girls!
