How I keep my feet callous-free even though I play sports

Growing up I always had my nose in a book and my hands strumming a guitar. I was an honors student and participated in debate competitions. In college, I focused all of my energy on studying and carving out a space for myself in the Internet. I didn’t do sports (outside of school requirements), never took even a mild interest.

Not once did it ever cross my mind that at 27 years old I would be crazy about tennis.

I actually only took it up about four months ago because I thought it would be a fun date activity to do with my paramour. He played competitively in college and said he’d like to teach me how to play it too! I was like, hmmmm, okay, sure. I’m always up for trying something at least once before I decide I don’t like it. I fully expected not to like tennis at all - all that hitting and running around must not agree with my not-so-fit constitution.

To my surprise, I enjoyed my first session. The trainer threw a few balls at me and I actually managed to hit some of them! Before I knew it I was spending much of my free time in the court three to four times every week. I’m not very good yet, but I love this feeling of accomplishment whenever I hit a ball correctly and when it goes where I want it to. I love that I have to move and think fast so I can be in the right position before exploding my racket at the ball. Soon, I’ll have to learn how to serve and how to do other kinds of shots - I am so excited!

Tennis is loads of fun, but there’s a catch. I’m developing callouses on my hands and feet. I’m especially vain about my feet, so it’s stressing me out a little to see hard spots and grooves forming on them. Good thing I have the Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi (P1,685)! I’ve written about this a couple of times already and it’s really been such a big help! Its Micralumina roller hard files down hard skin in minutes, saving me expensive trips to the foot salon. It’s so easy to use and has an ergonomically-shaped soft-touch handle that fits in my hand comfortably as I work.

More importantly, this is extremely effective at removing callouses. As I mentioned I am starting to form hard skin on the pads of my feet. In tennis, one must be agile on her toes. It’s a great way to move fast but this is causing some deep grooves in my feet. Here’s what mine looked like before facing off with the Scholl Express Pedi:

After literally two minutes with the electronic file, here’s what happened:

Super cool right? I didn't edit anything except to adjust the brightness on both pictures. Here’s a closer look:

So there’s the proof. ^_^ Now I don’t have to worry about callouses while I’m playing tennis. The Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pediis a simple solution to a potentially expensive problem. Hope you can try it too and let us all know your experience!

By the way, this nifty machine is battery operated and comes with washable roller heads. Replacement heads can also be purchased for P550 for two heads. You can find it in selected Watsons. You may also like facebook.com/SchollPhilippines for tips and updates.
