My top 10 favorite finds last October

Facebook is not a good place to be in at the moment. Ideally it should be a source of stories that will inspire and galvanize the country to do more for those affected by Yolanda. However, it has mostly become a breeding ground for false news, righteous comments, and a feeling of helpless hysteria. Perhaps I'm exaggerating. In any case, I'll be keeping to Twitter for now.

Let's all stay calm and carry on helping.

Anyway, here are my best finds last month! I realized that I reviewed (and enjoyed) more products than usual. I'll just be picking out the best of the best. :)

The Shiseido Natural Finish Cream Concealer is my current favorite under eye concealer. It's light and easy to blend, but it covers up darkness under the eyes well. What I love most about it though is the fact that it doesn't sink into my lines in the middle of the day! Good stuff.

Another one of my recent Shiseido finds is the Perfect Rouge Lipstick in Fuchsia RS320. This is a crazy bright magenta-fuchsia that never fails to draw quick glances whenever I'm wearing it. It's a fun lipstick to have in any kit.

Aaand here is my lipbalm-of-the-moment: the Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Moisturizing Stick! It's something I can wear under my lipstick without ruining the texture of the product. This is a pretty neat feature to have in your lip balm if you love lipsticks as much as I do.

Most days I can not be bothered to wear more than one shade of eyeshadow. Or any eyeshadow at all for that matter! But since I like highlighting my eyes, I at least make an effort to quickly swipe a cream eyeshadow on my lids. The Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal Eyeshadow in Barely Branded (golden cream) is a great daily color that'll brighten the eyes and stay on all day even with no primer.

Speaking of brighteners, do try the Too Cool For School Pearl Bay Invasion in Baby Clam Pink. It'll give your skin that subtle pearlescent glow. Wear it under or over your makeup, mix it with your liquid foundation, apply it as a body shimmer - just have fun with it. :)

...But if your illuminating tastes run a bit high end, I recommend the Bobbi Brown Brightening Brick in Pink. This is a powder illuminator with a pinkish tint. It's very fine and has that barely-there finish much like Guerlain Meteorites. This has a bit more pigmentation though.

I highly recommend the Ecotools 5-Piece Mineral Brush Set to those who need starter brushes for their first makeup kit. It's super affordable at P549, and yet no one can sneeze at the quality of these tools. I already have favorite full-sized brushes but I will definitely take this along with me whenever I travel.

Speaking of of full-sized brushes, one of my new faves is the Real Techniques Duo-Fiber Brush Collection. Actually there's only one brush from this set that I use everytime I wear makeup - the Duo-Fiber Face Brush. It's great to use with finishing powder and pigmented blushes since it gives such a nice soft-focus finish to the face.

Anyone who loves makeup will know this: makeup removal is just as serious a business as, say, finding the perfect foundation! I recently randomly found the Pond's Original All Day Clean Towelettes in S&R and have been impressed by its convenience. And texture. You have to try it to see how gentle and effective it is!

The Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Honeysuckle is my scent of the month. It's green and bright and fresh, just the way I like my daily perfume. :) Although this November I'm in the mood for smokier, more wooden scents. Let's see which one ends up on top next month!

And there you go. Hope you found this list useful! As usual, please share your favorite finds from last month as well.
