Eyeshadow Week: Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal Eyeshadow

Do tell me, after all the persuasion I've thrown your way, that you have one or two cream eyeshadows already in your possession. Please. No? Bah! If you can trust this blog on ten things, one of them would be the fact that you MUST have at least one basic cream eyeshadow for quick looks. You're missing out if you haven't tried it yet!

I think some girls are scared that cream eyeshadow would just slide right off their oily lids, but with new formulas like the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows (P320 at Bon Marche), you never have to worry about silly things like staying power. Or brushes. Or eyeshadow primers!

This Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows have received a lot of raves because they are practically waterproof, smudge-proof, and crease-proof. It's true! You can run a marathon and these things would most likely still be on your lids.

The product comes in a sturdy glass jar, and a cap that seals completely

They are easy to apply with just fingers although I prefer to use my MAC 217 to blend them properly. The formula has a tendency to pile up in one area since it dries so fast. It's unsightly, so you need to be able to blend this in less than 30 seconds.

I've had these shadows for about three months are they're still quite moist. They are drier than when I first opened them, hence they pile up more, but it's still manageable.

Barely Branded is a metallic yellow gold. You can get an opaque finish if you want but it's lovely as a sheer wash of color on the lids and browbone. It brightens up those areas instantly.

Silver Strike is a gleaming, well, silver. Colors like this almost never agree with my warm skintone but I still try! It's fun to go with contrasting colors every once in a while, if the occasion permits.

Inked in Pink is a medium pink in the jar but comes out as a dainty pink on my lids. I imagine it'll look deeper on lighter skintones. Nice shade!

Swatches: Barely Branded, Silver Strike, Inked in Pink

The colors I got are pretty! They're nice lid shades, and most of the time I use them alone on my eyes. I don't bother with other eyeshadows anymore; these are really handy in a pinch! Do note, however, that the colors are as metallic as they can be. That means they are best applied only on the lids and not beyond.

Silver Strike worn on the lids only and paired with a sky blue liner (from Essence btw)

Barely Branded is just a sheer layer on my lids here. The shade is subtle and not too metallic if you don't make it opaque.

Overall, you must try the Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal Eyeshadow if you're looking for something that will withstand the oil and sweat around your eyes. I know I make this product sound complicated to apply, but really it isn't. Just work with it quickly and you'll be fine.

I'm interested in trying the non-metallic shades. Currently, the Color Tattoo eyeshadows are NOT available in the Philippines except via online sellers. I talked to the Maybelline team last May or June (can't remember exactly when), and they are looking to release this product this December. I hope matuloy! ;) Nonetheless it'll still be cheaper over at online stores haha.

What do you think? Do you like metallic eyeshadow btw?
