VMV Hypoallergenics Skin Savvy 60 Protective Perfector

I love the VMV Skintangible, but as fantastic as it is it has limitations due to it being a tinted moisturizer at best. Girls who are looking for better coverage, shade match, and higher SPF may not find it compelling enough. But never worry! Skintangible has a grown-up sister who can take all the heavy lifting: the VMV Hypoallergenics Skin Savvy 60 Foundation (P1,840).

This foundation is exactly like Skintangible in terms of packaging and how it's dubbed to be 75% free of common allergens. But that's where the similarity stops. Skin Savvy is a cream foundation with SPF60, six available shades, and full coverage. It lasts fairly well under the tropical heat, too! Just set it with loose powder and you're done.

However, because of these "extra" features, Skin Savvy has some down sides. First, it's quite sticky and thick due to the SPF60 component. I find it an uncomfortable foundation to use because of the texture. Second, it gives an obvious white cast if you stand in certain indoor lighting or have your picture taken with flash. Again, that's the SPF60.

I think that this foundation is ideal for people who are always out - say if you're into active sports, or if your work/school requires you to be exposed for long periods of time outside. It's convenient as it will cut your application time in half as you won't need to apply moisturizer, then sunblock, then foundation anymore!

However if you're mostly indoors, this is an impractical choice. You won't need the SPF 60, indeed, SPF30 is enough for normal wear. Just stick to Skintangible or to your normal foundation.

I'm using W3 here, which is light and beige-y upon application but it blends nicely afterwards

Overall, the VMV Hypoallergenics Skin Savvy 60 Foundation delivers a perfecting finish with superb sun protection. Personally it's not something I would use regularly as I'm always in the house or in another indoor venue, but I think active girls with sensitive skin will love it. It's the kind of product that will keep your skin looking good AND protected while you're baking in the sun. Not a lot of products can do that. ;)

How about you, does this look like a foundation you'll go for?
