Hey, PV Community! How’s the month of April going for you? Sorry if I’ve been MIA with the beauty roundup - I moved to a new place last week and have been unpacking ever since. Now that I’m finally done, it’s back to regular programming - time for this week’s beauty roundup!

Like I always say, it makes me happy that we have so many local beauty options and this week is just further proof of that. For this beauty roundup, we’re talking local releases that cover makeup, hair, and skin, and new sunscreens from Anessa!

You’ve probably bought a product based on how attractive its packaging looked. I know I have! Sometimes I feel conned when the product itself turns out to be bad, and its only saving grace is the cute design that initially lured me into purchasing. Indeed, the beauty industry is very competitive and they have to do whatever it takes to keep their customers interested.

I'm talking pedicure on our toes, toes, trying on all our clothes, clothes! Did that get you singing? I must confess, this week’s roundup has got me singing for joy with all the latest in beauty! Sunnies Face has spilled the tea on their SUPER(model) collab, Pia Wurtzbach’s sporting a new pout, and Kesha's latest release isn't music-related! MAC has a crazy lippie drop that’s sure to have gloss lovers buzzing, while Shiseido joins our list of online beauty stores to frequent. It’s a bit of a random mix, but we reckon it’ll have you editing those lists and shopping way more than you should!

Ah, the multi-pot - endlessly desirable (at least for me) yet somewhat difficult to manage. We already love cream blushes, but I love the idea of having one product I can use for multiple applications that I can toss into my bag. Recently, Sunnies Face released their third product: the Lifebrow duo consisting of a retractable skinny pencil and a grooming gel. The promotional photos were truly gorgeous, but what hooked me was the smallness of the grooming gel’s brush, which is not something we see in the market that often. I thought the price was right, and there was no store queue at the UP Town Center branch, so I went to buy them as soon as they launched.

Here's a fact of life: women don't buy lipstick because they need one. They buy because of the way it makes them feel. We tend to pick up our bullet of the day because of our mood or even according to who we want to be like; is it chic and elegant, sexy and hot, smart and practical? The permutations are endless, which is why lipstick is one of the easiest beauty products to sell even in an already crowded market. We can't have too much of it because we assign a unique and personal value to each of our carefully chosen shades.
