Shiseido Future University launches in Giza, Japan

Last year, Shiseido unveiled their plans for a “Shiseido Future University” as part of the commemoration of their 150th year in business. Right on schedule, they announced via press release on November 30th that their plans have become reality, launching Shiseido Future University at their Ginza headquarters.

The facility aims to be the training ground for future leaders of the Shiseido group around the globe. This is definitely consistent with the company’s “PEOPLE FIRST” principle, investing in its people in the belief that they are the most valuable asset. Leadership programs will be offered to select Shiseido employees in Japan and overseas. Shiseido Chairman and CEO Masahiko Uotani will serve as the founding dean.

At first glance, it may sound extreme for a beauty brand to invest in their own school. But remember, Shiseido is so much more than a Japan-grown beauty brand; it has recently acquired notable beauty brands around the world. These include Drunk Elephant, Anessa, and NARS, among others. It actually makes sense to educate and align future leaders with specially-developed courses that educate on Shiseido’s heritage and history, while developing leadership in their signature way. I hope this inspires not only Shiseido employees, but other beauty brands!

Givenchy gifts Roblox users with a Festive Winter Escape

Wherever in the world you may be, you can experience a luxe winter Givenchy-style wonderland as long as you have a Roblox account and an internet connection. The Givenchy Beauty House has been online since June 2022, a permanent game addition to the Roblox world. A snow-covered winter chalet was added recently, which includes a makeup station, an igloo dance floor, and a skating rink. Exploring these locations online gives users a taste of Givenchy’s holiday offerings this year.

Roblox avatars can enjoy a virtual try-on of Le 9 De Givenchy eyeshadow palettes, Le Rouge lipsticks, and Prisme Libre Skin-Caring Highlighter. Exclusive accessories can also be won in-game, including virtual earrings and a Givenchy Voyou Bag! Also hidden away in the designer wonderland is a gifting code redeemable on the Givenchy website.

I don’t play Roblox, but my kids sure do! It’s a weird feeling for sure, but I’m jealous of my kids’ avatars because they can enjoy Givenchy swag for free. It’s a smart move by the fashion brand, enabling users around the world to experience Givenchy, while expanding its reach to younger users. The Givenchy Beauty House has had 10.8 million visitors since its launch!

Luxe Organix releases their ClinicalPRO serums in resealable sachets

Luxe Organix launched their ClinicalPRO serums in July this year: the Vita C20 Booster Bright UV Defense Serum and the Retinol Radiance Overnight Botox Lift Serum. I kept it on my skin care radar because the brand pushed it as potent additions to their Vitamin C and Retinol lines, at a decent price range (P549 for 30ml). But after seeing that it came in a pump glass bottle, I labeled it as a definite “maybe.” I figured that serums like that can get a shorter shelf life when exposed to light and air due to the packaging. Regardless of how good the formula is, I might end up wasting quite an amount of product.

I was happy to see that this December, the brand released their Clinical PRO serums in 7ml sachets with resealable caps. Priced at P129, it comes down to almost the same price per ml as the full size bottle! I got my wish: completely opaque packaging with limited air exposure. The portable travel size is a bonus. It also allows for extensive product testing at less cost. I’ll be sure to pick up both variants on my next Watsons trip!

Blk Cosmetics adds new colors to bestselling lippies

This December, fans of Blk lippies were not let down as the brand released new shades for their bestselling lip products: Pillow Matte lipsticks, Lip & Cheek Water Tints, and Gloss Gel Tints. There are a total of twelve (12) new shades for the three formulas, updating the color wardrobe with wearable nude shades. Let’s get to know them!

Blk Cosmetics’ Pillow Matte (P399) is the brand’s answer for anyone looking for a bullet lipstick with an airy matte finish. The new shades are Ginger (Nude Peach), Nutmeg (Nude Brown), Tides (Warm Brown), and Pink Shore (Old Rose). There are now a total of 12 shades to choose from for this fan fave.

If you like multi-use liquid color with a fresh finish, the Lip and Cheek Water Tint (P349) just might be for you. It’s available in 15 shades, and the four newbies are Mulberry (nude rosy pink), Ruby (deep red), Strawberry (reddish pink), and Toasted (nude brown).

Last but definitely not the least, Blk’s Gloss Gel Tints (P349) are those craving that juicy finish. Two reds (Fig and Sunset Dreams), one pink (Cosmos) and one nude (Sandy Cheeks) join the shade roster, making it a total of ten (10) glossy shades.

I’m happy that a local beauty brand is taking off enough to expand their existing product lines. As someone partial to wearable nude shades, these additions make perfect sense! They’re at affordable price points, too.

And that’s it for this week’s Beauty Roundup! Which story did you like the most?
