The year 2023 is almost up, and I find myself looking forward to what the next year brings! So for this week’s Beauty Roundup, let’s discuss what trends will make it big next year (which is in a couple of weeks, wow). Let’s get to know Peach Fuzz, Pantone 2024 Color of the Year. We’ll also check out a bunch of interesting beauty and style predictions from Pinterest Predicts 2024. The Ultimate Skin Master collection by the Albert Kurniawan rounds up Teviant’s releases for 2023. And last but not least, Selena rocks the world yet again with surprise Rare Beauty drops for the body. Are you ready? Let’s go!

Peach Fuzz is Pantone Color of the Year 2024

In stark contrast to this year’s fiery Viva Magenta, Peach Fuzz is a “velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul.” Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of Pantone Color Institute, says, “In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.”

Looks like peach is making a comeback! This time in a soft, fuzzy, pastel version. I could totally vibe with a peachy eye look with matching blush. Can’t wait to see which beauty brands will ride the Peach Fuzz train next year.

Beauty Prophecies from Pinterest Predicts 2024

Every year, online aesthetic bible Pinterest predicts trends for the upcoming year. They have been mostly accurate, with predicted trends lasting even longer than a year! For this reason, industry leaders and trendsetters pay close attention to Pinterest Predicts every year. Let’s break down their 2024 picks for makeup, skin care, and style.

Color-wise, Blue Beauty takes the forefront. Aquamarine makeup has apparently been trending, with the younger generation seeking to modernize striking eye looks from the 60s. Hot Metals is another trend to keep an eye on. Metallic, cool-toned silver and chrome textures will be a hot look in 2024, specifically for nail art.

People are apparently taking to skin care! Head to Glow trends show massive interest in body care, with a 75% increase in interest for sun care. Bodycare also takes on a deeper meaning as the younger generations turn home spa into an aesthetic. Bigger is better with Make It Big, as people show more interest in big hair: big buns, big braids, and even wavy perms for men have been trending! I’m so here for that.

Rare Beauty does bodycare

I don’t know if our girl Selena has an insider on Pinterest, because she totally stayed ahead of the Head to Glow trend with her latest bodycare drops! The new line from Rare Beauty is called Find Comfort, which features a light, refreshing scent. The collection features four products: Find Comfort Body & Hair Fragrance Mist, Hydrating Body Lotion, Hydrating Hand Cream, and Stop & Soothe Aromatherapy Pen.

I really like how the concept transforms body care from a chore to a self-comforting treat. And that packaging is *chef’s kiss*! I really hope they will be available on Sephora.ph soon.

Massive face base launch from Teviant

We were shookt back in 2018 when celebrity makeup artist Albert Kurniawan suddenly launched his own makeup brand Teviant. This December, the brand launched a much-awaited massive face base collection! Aptly named The Ultimate Skin Master, the collection includes a face primer, foundation (10 shades), concealer (8 shades), loose powder (5 variants), 5 face brushes, and a blender sponge. Whew! When they said ultimate, they meant it! Liz has a quick TikTok video that gives a short collection overview and foundation swatches.

The Ultimate Skin Master Luminous Radiant Primer (P750) is a lightweight formula that combines makeup and skin care, prepping the skin with a silky finish. The Ultimate Skin Master Foundation (P995) is available in ten shades, with three subgroups (Light, Medium, and Deep). I love the little nod the brand gives to its maker with Medium 2 shade name Albert’s, marking it as the shade *the* skin master uses. The foundation has medium to heavy coverage with a light texture, and is housed in a luxe glass pump bottle with rose gold cap. The Ultimate Skin Master Concealer (P595) has eight shades with the same three color subgroups. Both the foundation and concealer offer a flawless velvety finish, with “24 hour longevity tested” wear. Finish off with The Ultimate Skin Master Loose Powder (P650) which comes in Translucent, Vanilla, Custard, Illuminating, and Cotton Candy variants. It promises hydration while controlling shine, delivering a velvet matte finish that locks makeup in place. All of the above feature skin-caring ingredients, are paraben-free, and vegan.

The makeup brushes and makeup blender sponge in the collection were all personally designed by Kurniawan himself. The brushes include a Concealer Brush (P450), Detailed Face Brush (P395), Liquid Application Face Brush (P550), the angled Liquid and Cream Face Brush (P690), and a Powder Face Brush (P550). Teviant’s Makeup Beauty Blender (P350) features the classic teardrop shade with a flat side, allowing for different blending techniques with precision.

All in all, the collection is giving luxe! I’m excited that a local brand could provide this kind of quality at decent prices. If you’re looking to try a new local face base, or professionally designed makeup tools, this collection just might be for you.

And that’s that for this week’s beauty news! I’m definitely looking forward to how trends will translate to new beauty innovations in 2024. Aren’t you? Which ones are you eyeing?
