Sick of thin, weak hair? Then you'll love the Zenutrients Gugo Hair Strengthening Line

"I thought your hair was a wig!" I blurted out to Angela Reyes Dinglasan, the General Manager of Zenutrients, the first time I met her. I had been admiring her luscious long hair and thought that she was wearing a really expensive wig or at least some extensions. Her hair was thick, healthy, alive. So far from my own hair!

I didn't make a total fool of myself and made that faux pas uninvited of course, haha. Angela was telling me that she had serious hair fall when she was still working for a a top beauty corporation. Her hair was literally falling out in clumps, she said, which prompted her to quit her job to start an organic beauty brand - Zenutrients. This pushed her to worked hard to create the Gugo Hair Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner (among other amazing things), which today is the brand's best-selling line ever.

Naturally, I got curious. I remember my mother putting gugo essence (basically just the bark steeped in hot water, like tea) on my hair to make it lush when I was a kid. Perhaps the same thing will work for me now? I'm always up for trying something new, so Angela gave me a bottle of the shampoo and conditioner to try.

That was last August. I've been using them at least three times a week for the last four months and I can tell you that they really work! I noticed that my hair grew thicker and stronger; strands don't break off easily like before. Even my hair stylists noticed! They thought I was still using that expensive shampoo from Rustan's they recommended before. The Zenutrients shampoo is less than a third of the price at P234/250ml and the conditioner at P260/200ml.

How I use the Gugo Strengthening shampoo is simple. I lather it all over and leave it on for a few minutes while I do the rest of my shower routine. It can be rather drying and tangly afterwards, which is why I always follow up with the Conditioner. I also rotate it with other hair care products to keep my hair flowy.

I think of it as a treatment, really! I love the green scent - a lot like honey ginger tea with that sharp gugo note. The conditioner smells like my old The Body Shop favorite, which is this Peppermint and Oatmeal soap I used to buy in high school. It also has a fluffy texture that washes off completely and does not break me out. Love how it leaves my hair smooth but not weighed down!

I must mention that the shampoo has a whole gugo piece inside. I feel that it helps "strengthen" the formula over time as the bark steeps, but the downside is that it's hard to get the rest of the shampoo out when you're near to finishing it. It clogs the hole of the bottle.

Zenutrients Gugo Hair Strengthening products: shampoo, conditioner, serum

The Zenutrients Gugo Hair Strengthening Serum (P499) is the latest addition to the line. It has a more concentrated amount of gugo to promote hair growth and strength. Angela says that she uses it at night before she sleeps, applying directly on her scalp. As for me, I use it to prevent frizz so I apply it on the ends of my hair and sometimes on my scalp too.

It's not sticky and doesn't weigh my fine hair down. It has the exact same scent as the shampoo. ^_^ The serum is a good product too, but I would still credit the shampoo and conditioner as the ones which helped my hair get better. I did take a couple of steps backward since I had a recent dye job that involved bleaching. That weakened my hair sadly, but at least I know the Zenutrients Gugo Hair Strengthening line can save it.

Overall I highly recommend it to anyone who wants an organic solution to a hair loss problem. I love this line and still use it regularly! The products are affordable and they really work. You just need to be consistent and patient to see the results. For me it took three months before I can observe any noticeable change, so yup, just be patient and it should come in time.
