A Not-So-Ordinary Goodbye

Or should we say, “hope to see you soon?” In a shocking video uploaded to Instagram, Deciem founder and CEO Brandon Truaxe made the announcement that his beloved company would be shutting down operations for at least two months due to a pending investigation. According to Truaxe, there has been major criminal activity going on in the operations of the company and needs to be addressed ASAP. All Deciem’s social media accounts and website have been shut down until further notice, while some physical stores have also been abruptly closed. Tons of fans have expressed their sadness online as the cult skincare brand The Ordinary, which is part of the Deciem family, has been affected as well. Read on before you start panic-buying though!

Truaxe was also sued by Estée Lauder, a minority stakeholder in Deciem, and has been ousted as company CEO as of press time. Co-CEO Nicola Kilner has taken over as sole head of the company, and regular operations are expected to resume soon! While we’re sad to hear about Brandon, we hope that a more stable leadership will mean better and greater things in store for Deciem!

Not Your Average Jo

This might just be the perfect Christmas gift for your dads, husbands, boyfriends, and brothers! For the first time since they started blessing us with gorgeously deep, long-lasting scents, Jo Malone London now has a collection especially designed for men! Although their scents have always been deemed as unisex fragrances, the British perfume house has teamed up with Savile Row Tailors to create the Jo Malone London x Huntsman Collection - four limited edition scents perfectly curated for the men in your life. There’s Amber and Patchouli, Birch and Black Pepper, Assam and Grapefruit, and Whisky and Cedarwood (this sounds like a winner tbh!) Encased in the brand’s signature glass bottles, with bold gold letters and topped with a burgundy cover, these bottles are perfect additions for underneath the Christmas tree. Each scent costs £120 and are already available online but if you wanna sniff before you buy, be sure to check out local Jo Malone stores in the coming weeks!

A Wizard With Waves

You know you’ve made it when you purchase your very own Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer! It’s probably the most expensive yet “worth it” hair dryer from a brand famous for their vacuum cleaners and humidifiers, and it’s really taking the beauty world by storm. After the success of their famous Hair Dryer back in 2016, Dyson is now bringing in their second hair styling tool, and it’s guaranteed to give you “effortless beach waves” without any of the damage!

The Dyson Airwrap Styler is a self-twirling curling iron that uses air instead of heat to curl your locks! Designed to twirl on its own, you simply have to place the tool near your hair and let it do all the work to create waves worthy of a Victoria’s Secret Angel . With 5 different attachments to help you achieve the style you want, the Airwrap Styler kits range from $500 to $550 depending on how many attachments you get. It’s definitely a steep price (something Dyson is also known for) but I gotta admit, this tool has got me curious!
