Review: Spotlight Limitless Multicream – For Color That Stays No Matter What
In a country where it's summer basically year-round, long-wearing makeup isn't a nice-to-have, it's a must. Between the constant humidity, our love for commutes and food trips, and the fact that we’re always on the move, it’s not surprising that we’ve developed a soft spot for products that multitask and last all day. Most Filipinos are not doing full glam on a daily basis, but we still want to look fresh, polished, and put-together, without having to reapply every few hours.
That’s why I think long-wearing, versatile products are so important in our local beauty space. Cream products are great because they blend easily and look natural, but they don’t always survive a full day under the sun or in an airconditioned office. And while we love a good multipurpose stick or tint, some of them just don’t hold up when oil and sweat come into play.
Enter Spotlight’s newest release: the Limitless Multicream (P475), a collection of 12 cream-based shades spanning tints, blushes, contours, and highlighters. At first glance, it seems like another cream pigment drop, but what makes this line different is its commitment to staying power. This isn’t your slippery, glossy tint that fades by lunch. This is color that is designed to set and stay.
If you still remember those matte liquid formulas from the 2016 to 2018 makeup era—think high pigment, budge-proof textures—the Limitless Multicream is a nod to that, but with a much more updated feel. The texture is airy and lightweight, with a soft matte finish that doesn’t feel heavy or stiff on the skin.
Once blended, it sets completely, which is great news for oily skin types or anyone who’s just tired of their blush vanishing by 3 p.m. But because it sets quickly, you need to work fast, ideally blending it out with your fingers or a dense brush while your base is still fresh. It plays well with skincare and liquid foundation, but it can be tricky on top of powder. If you plan to set your face, do that after you’ve blended in your Multicream.
Also, these are quite pigmented! You are supposed to diffuse them, so use a very very small amount and always start from a palette or the back of your hand so you can control exactly how much you’re getting. One tiny dot per cheek is actually enough!
L-R: Power, Love, Passion, Drive, Potential, Strength, Growth
L-R: Vision, Dreams, Influence, Brave, Courage
The range includes universally flattering tones that work across skin tones, from neutral everyday shades to bold pops of color. Most of the colors are matte, except for these two:
Dreams, a soft pinky peach blush with a fine gold shimmer that gives a soft, glowing flush
Influence, a highlighter that adds a luminous sheen without chunky glitter
Other shades worth checking out in my opinion are:
Potential, a dusty mauve rose
Drive, a girlish soft pink
Vision, a neutral nude shade
TOP L-R: Vision, Dreams, Influence, Brave, Courage / BOTTOM L-R: Growth, Strength, Potential, Drive, Passion, Love, Power
Because the shades are designed to be multi-use, you can technically apply them to your lips, cheeks, and even eyes. That said, some shades naturally lend themselves better to certain areas. The contours, for example, are more muted and cool-toned, ideal for sculpting the face. The blushes have more of a white base and so may look too pale on the lips, while the tints are punchier, great for lips and cheeks.
What stood out to me most was the longevity. The lip colors especially hold up incredibly well—even after a meal. You still get some fading, but there’s a stain left behind that looks soft and natural. Perfect for days when you don’t have time (or the energy) to reapply.
Overall
If you’re the type who wants your makeup to stay plakado all day with minimal fuss, the Spotlight Limitless Multicream is worth checking out. It’s versatile, it’s durable, and it comes in a variety of pretty shades to suit every mood and moment. Just remember to blend quickly, and apply it before your setting powder. With a bit of technique, this can be a real staple in your makeup bag, especially on days when you need your look to last from morning coffee to merienda.
