Avoid this common Pinay makeup mistake with the Revlon Colorstay Brow Tint

The most common makeup mistake that I’ve seen Filipinas make is thick, solid eyebrows that approach a crunchy appearance. I think it’s because many of us learned how to do our eyebrows from YouTube and Instagram beauty gurus, which is fine, except that their makeup is created under bright lighting and filters. In real life though, it can look quite heavy. Keep this in mind when doing your own brows. Whatever happens, the humble spoolie is your best friend! Of course, a good formula that works with your application style is important too.

If this is something that you’re struggling with, then you’ll like the new Revlon Colorstay Brow Tint (P575). This is a liquid color that shades the brows naturally by creating hairline strokes rather than thick, wide ones. There is a bit of a learning curve if you’re not used to the stiff felt tip brush, but once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty easy! Just draw up, blend with a spoolie as needed, then layer where there’s less hair. The results look so professional.

There are four shades available: Taupe, a light blonde; Soft Brown, a light nutty brown; Dark Brown, a medium deep neutral brown; and Soft Black, a charcoal color. I find Dark Brown to be a universal color for brunettes while Soft Brown should be a nice color for those with lighter hair. Soft Black is an excellent color for those who have jet black hair, or if you just need something to deepen your brows with if you have missing hair (as I do!).

Staying power is average at around six hours before starting to fade. I wish it wore longer, but I wouldn’t recommend this for those with very oily or sweaty skin.

Here’s what Dark Brown + a touch of Soft Black looks on me:

Below, the PV Team (hi Den, Nine, and Gett!) wore some combinations. Look at how the Brow Tint worked on their different hair colors!

It looks so good no? To make it stay put longer, make sure to apply the Brow Tint on dry skin (no sweat whatsoever) so that it would adhere better! I also recommend adding an extra spray of your favorite makeup setting spray on each brow so that it’ll add some extra hold. An eyebrow mascara helps a lot too.

Overall, I would recommend the Revlon Colorstay Brow Tint to those who are looking for a fuss-free eyebrow pen that has an excellent color selection. This is not so common among drugstore brands, since pens always lean a bit too red or too dark. The Brow Tint is best for those with dry to combi skin, so if you have oily skin you’ll need to take some extra measure to extend its wear time. Shop it now at Revlon counters and on their official online store on Lazada!

Let me know what you think, as always!
