Complete swatches + review: Pink Sugar Creamy Matte Lipstick

My favorite, uber flattering lipsticks are on permanent speed dial but sometimes I just want to let loose with fun colors. I often like trying out different looks to see what might surprisingly work out. Other times, I just want to wear something different to get myself out of the doldrums - pretty be damned! Do you play with lipsticks the same way?

Now, a lot of trendy shades come out that might be great for a few parties but we know deep inside that we won't wear them as often as our fave MLBB. That's fine. What's not so fine is spending a lot for a statement color that might not make it to our "regular" kit! Thank goodness there's a new Filipino brand in town that has affordable yet gorgeous colors for those with adventurous lips (if ya know what I mean)!

The Pink Sugar Creamy Matte Lipstick (P349) comes in ten delicious colors that are as trendy as they are fabulous. The formula is long-wearing, staying about 4-5 hours on my lips barring oily food (drinks are ok). The texture is a bit dry - typical with matte lippies - but a lick of balm beforehand is all you need to prime your lips. Oh, make sure to exfoliate too! The flakes won't be able to hide under the matte finish and high pigmentation of these lippies.

The colors are really out there. Pink Sugar doesn't seem to want to compete with other brands that have their MLBB game down pat. Instead, they went all out with colors that will make people stop and stare! I love that about Pink Sugar. They didn't hold back and become overly cautious with their maiden lipstick collection.

Naturally, if you prefer safe colors, most of Pink Sugar's Creamy Mattes won't be your cup of tea. But if you're looking for a swipe of adventure and want to wear trendy colors for not a lot of money, you must try these out!

Here are the swatches and my quick shade descriptions.

Sangria is a deep, bordeaux red. This is a gorgeous fall color and the perfect entry to the world of dark lipsticks.

Royals is a muted purple reminiscent of MAC's Heroine. It's not 100% flattering (well, it's purple lipstick who are we kidding) but I still love how I look in it. Can't wait to wear it out sooooon! Grab this if you've always wanted purple lipstick but didn't want to blow $$$ on it.

Desire is my favorite color in this collection. It's a muted, deepened berry pink that might be something Kylie Jenner would wear.

Rumor is a cool pinky nude. This would look great on those with fair to light skin tones.

Selfie is a bright lilac pink. Like Rumor, it would work best on fair to light skin tones. (But such a pretty color nonetheless! I think I'll take it out for a spin!)

Catfight is a neon pink with a fuchsia tint, similar to MAC Show Orchid. Lovely color! I highly recommend this.

First Kiss is the most wearable pink in this collection. It's a warm, bright pink with a coral hue.

Bombshell is an unabashedly bright tomato red. I LOVE IT. Very similar to MAC Ruby Woo.

Bangbang is another bright red, but this time with a pinky tint.

Diva is just a tad brighter than Russian Red. It's so full-bodied and the pigmentation is amazing. Same with all the reds actually.

So there you go. ^_^ Let me know which colors will be coming home with you! I also have the full range of the Pink Sugar HD Lipsticks, which I will post tomorrow as a sort of part two. Check back then!
