You need this waterproof eyeliner pencil in your life

It's 10am but it looks like it's 5pm outside. It's the gloomiest morning of the year, I swear, and it's all because of this incessant rain! I hope you're dry wherever you are. If you're not, and you wish your eyeliner was as waterproof as you are in these situations, then I think you'll want to get your paws on the Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Eye Pencil (P1,250) ASAP. It's the waterproof pencil you deserve!

MUFE's Aqua line has always been reliable - I've been using the liquid lipstick, liquid liner, cream eyeshadow, lip pencil, and old formulation of the pencil liner long enough to know they will NOT move whatever I do. With their Aqua XL liner, a new formula released last June, I knew that my ugly smudgy eyeliner days are dead and buried.

I wasn't wrong. This pencil is super creamy and glides on my lids easily, but once it sets it's just there until I take it off. I've worn this the whole day (about 10-12 hours) and I didn't observe any fading. I've worn this to tennis several times and yup, no smudging even with the sweat. It's a tank pretty much! I'd even bet I can swim in this pencil and it would still barely move.

I got two pencils: M-80, a matte smoky purple, and ME-42, a light copper. MUFE has the usual black, brown, and navy colors in the line but I wanted colors I don't have yet. I'm thinking of getting the basic colors too, though, just in case. The ones I have are intense in one swipe and doesn't smudge both on the upper and lower lash line.

In this look, I am wearing M-80 on my upper lids and ME-42 on my waterline. Such a pretty combo!

The catch? Well, it's expensive, but this is one of those things I would not mind paying for because of sheer reliability. I do find it a bit of a challenge to sharpen. Since the fresh tip is soft, it might come off on your sharpener if you're not careful. Sayang! My advice is to put it in the fridge for a few minutes before sharpening it.

Overall, I highly recommend the Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Eye Pencil to everyone who's had it with eyeliners that can't keep up with their lives. It's waterproof, smudge-proof, and comes in 20 colors. Expensive, yes, but so few eyeliners are truly waterproof. Just get your bi-phase or oily makeup remover ready!
