Is my search for a mask-proof lip color over? A review on the Happy Skin Kiss & Bloom Glossy Tint

Here I am again with my search for mask proof makeup. This time around, the focus is on lips and I’m happy to find a product from one of my favorite local brands, Happy Skin! The Kiss & Bloom Glossy Tints (P349) are part of the Generation Happy Skin line up. It was mid-2020 when these products were first launched and included in the Here to Bloom collection with the shades Tanned and Crimson. Four new shades have been added since then: Blossom, Bud, Calm, and Sunny. The shades are sold separately but you can also get all four in the Generation Happy Skin Glossy Tint Set (P1,396).

The tints are described as a "weightless creamy gel tint boasting a skin-caring formula that drenches lips in an intensely moisturizing layer, without compromising rich color payoff that lasts the whole day." Green Tea Extract and Hops Flower Extract are the two star ingredients that help with hydrating the lips.

While these do not dry out my lips like other liquid lipsticks do, they’re not the most moisturizing when it comes to the lip tints I’ve tried out. But are they mask proof? Yes, as long as you don’t immediately put on your mask after applying. The glossy top layer will eventually disappear leaving a colored stain that’s really helpful for my normally pale lips.

Longevity-wise, this will not last through a meal but I’ve tried wearing a thin layer to bed and woke up with a natural looking stain on my lips that didn’t transfer on my pillowcase.

The Kiss & Bloom Glossy Tint in Blossom is described as a "blush red". It is a part of the Generation Happy Skin Blossom Set (P1,499) that also includes a blush, a matte lippie, and an eyeshadow stick. I like this the most because it looks the most vivid on my lips.

The Kiss & Bloom Glossy Tint in Bud is described as a "walnut brown". It is the only one of new shades that is not part of a set. This particular shade looks best when I’m going for that toasty nude look that’s reminiscent of days on the beach that I can only dream of at the moment.

The Kiss & Bloom Glossy Tint in Calm is described as a "warm cocoa". It is a part of the Generation Happy Skin Calm Set (P1,499) that also includes a blush, a matte lippie, and a liquid eyeshadow. This is a redder nude compared to the Bud shade. It adds a healthy flush of color while still keeping within the nude lip theme.

The Kiss & Bloom Glossy Tint in Sunny is described as a "clay red". It is a part of the Generation Happy Skin Sunny Set (P1,499) that also includes a cheek stick, a butter balm, and a mascara. This is probably my favorite for the most natural looking flush - think my lips but better and healthier looking.

The shades are quite difficult to capture once applied on the lips but check out the arm swatches below to see the subtle differences. While Happy Skin shades can be described as playing it safe, the nuances of the shades they come up with can be the reason why one shade will be your perfect MLBB while another shade will be mine. The brand certainly knows their market well. Do note that the Glossy Tints can be a bit tough to apply evenly but I find that using thin layers help. And while it’s not marketed as such, these Glossy Tints moonlight as cheek tints which I like to apply with a foundation brush!

Check these out now at Happy Skin’s website and Lazada store.
