Contour like a pro with Make Up For Ever's new collection

It's almost hard to believe that up until 2012, contouring was the makeup industry's best-kept secret. After Kim K posted her before and after photo on social media, beauty fanatics the world over trooped to the nearest makeup counter to get their hands on this magical item. What they found, if they found it at all, were products designed for use under harsh camera lights, in shades that made skin just look muddy.

Fast forward to four years later, and we now have so many contour products to choose from that we don't even know where to begin! Even with the vast selection, you still run the risk of picking up a complete dud, or perhaps a formula that seemingly requires a makeup school diploma to properly blend out. Luckily, Make Up For Ever (MUFE) has come up with three new solutions to help you achieve a model-esque look in your own home.

MUFE recently hosted an intimate wine and art session at Sip and Gogh Kapitolyo to introduce a new line that will change the way you think about contouring. As a fine arts student in Paris, MUFE Founder and Artistic Director Dany Sanz was fascinated with the art of sculpture, and her love for the play of light and shadow has been translated into professional quality makeup. The new Pro Sculpting line is more than just about helping you get gorgeous cheekbones, though - their 360 approach to contouring includes your eyebrows and lips, too!

The star of the show is the Pro Sculpting Palette (P2,750), which comes in four "complexion harmonies" designed to flatter light, medium, tan and dark skin tones. Aside from the contour shade, the cream palette includes two highlighter shades (one matte and one with delicate shimmer) as well as a skin tone-flattering blush. The contour pigment may look intense at first application, but it actually blends out easily into a natural-looking finish! The easy-to-work formula and having your other complexion products in the same palette make this a great pick for gals who want their beauty routines to be complete and quick.

The palette even comes with a little pamphlet for understanding your face shape, plus a contouring guide for each type.

A girl can never have too many eyebrow products, and the Pro Sculpting Brow (P1,400) is a must-have! Each pen breaks down into three components: a retractable sword-cut pencil that provides just the right amount of color, a spoolie for blending out harsh lines, and a foam-tip matte illuminator to add a touch of highlight to your brow bone. You can choose from Blond, Dark Blond, Brown, Dark Brown and Brown Black. The shades lean closer to gray tones rather than red, making them easier to match to any hair color.

The pencil formula is semi-hard, and dispenses just the right amount of pigment! You won't have to worry about getting too heavy-handed in your application. The slanted shape also makes it easy to create feathery strokes that mimic the look of real hair, so brow definition looks more 3-dimensional. The result is soft, natural-looking brows that look as good in person as they do in photos.

Of course, you have to complete the look with a pop of lip color! The Pro Sculpting Lip (P1,650) allows you to create a more voluptuous pout with its satiny pigmented lip base and pearly illuminating powder. After swiping on the lippie, you can simply apply the highlighter on your cupid's bow and center lip to make it look more full and pillowy.

Each lip sculptor comes with a different shade of iridescent highlighter. The gold, champagne, nude, and lilac cream powders all look so gorgeous! Just check out these swatches!

The idea of being able to contour your face, brows and lips so easily is just awesome. While we do love how we look, our favorite features deserve that extra oomph! Which part of your face do you usually emphasize? Got your eye on any of these new releases?

Make Up For Ever has stores in SM Megamall Fashion Hall, Greenbelt 3, Trinoma, and SM Mall of Asia.
