New from Inglot: Aquastic Cream Eyeshadows and Italian Kiss lipsticks

Cloudy skies and frequent rainshowers have officially put an end to Summer 2018 but that doesn’t mean that vibrant colors have to take a back seat. If you’re looking to make a beauty statement that stands out in gloomy weather, Inglot’s new releases are all about playing the color game with minimal effort.

As someone who survived college with wear-and-go makeup, shimmery cream shadows have always been a part of my stash. With just a single shade, my eyes can easily be made to look more awake without careful blending or even needing to use a single brush! So it’s easy to imagine how the Aquastic Cream Eyeshadows (P995 for 4.8 g) can become part of a quick, daily makeup FOTD.

Despite the name, these aren’t actually waterproof cream shadows but they are water-based. The line comes in 10 shimmery shades that are buildable, crease-proof, and smudge-proof. You'll need to work fast as the formula is long-wearing and sets in place once dried, but easily washes off with water and/or cleanser. Other usage tips to remember:

Apply the Aquastic shadows on the back of the hand or on a palette first. That way, you can control the amount better and get a chance to blend and build up gradually.

Use dabbing and tapping motions for finger application to get the most out of your layering. If you prefer to use a brush, stick with a synthetic haired one. Natural hair makeup brushes tend to absorb too much cream eyeshadow.

For more pronounced pigmentation, use a pressed powder eyeshadow first before layering on the cream shadow. The different mediums result in depth, contrast, and texture for a more sophisticated look. Additionally, the cream shadows can serve as a shimmer wash.

For those who prefer a pop of color on the pout, the 11-piece Italian Kiss collection of HD Lip Tint Mattes (P1,250 for 5.5ml) are a must-try. The shades range from nudes to a few daring choices, including a fiery red in shade 39 that was love at first sight. These liquid lipsticks are in fact kiss-proof, perfect for a The Notebook inspired rainy makeout session. *wink, wink*

Liz has reviewed the HD Lip Tint Matte #17 previously, and the new releases seem to be consistent in finish and quality. Here are some swatches:

I got to try #45, a medium warm pink-brown, and I have to say that the formula helped change my mind about liquid lipsticks. (Yes, I am still a classic lipstick-in-bullet kinda girl.) Even as someone who tends to get heavy-handed with application, the thin yet super-pigmented formula gives great color payoff that doesn’t clump. And even after several meals and seeing the dreaded lipstick ring that most liquid lippies inevitably devolve into, reapplication on the bare parts of my lips looks seamless with the previous coat. The color only started to look slightly uneven on my fifth touch-up, but still not even that noticeable.

Inglot’s makeup artist also shared that lip liner can be applied AFTER the liquid lipstick for additional definition. That's a nifty trick for those who have a hard time perfecting their liquid lippie application, and we’ve got more helpful tips as well!

Both the Italian Kiss liquid lipstick collection and the Aquastic shadows are part of the Inglot’s permanent lineup.

Are you planning to tone your palette down for the rainy season, or are you just getting started with punchy colors?
