Glass skin dreams come true with the new Innisfree Jeju Cherry Blossom collection

“Blooming ka” is a usual compliment that describes a general improvement in one’s appearance. Sometimes it’s as obvious as a whole new FOTD, while other times it’s a positive change to the overall aura that’s hard to explain. Then again, maybe it’s just a new skincare routine that’s been formulated for glass skin levels of radiance!

Innisfree promises that unmistakable glow with the release of their new Jeju Cherry Blossom collection. The four-product line highlights the inclusion of the king cherry blossom leaf extract, which is known for its brightening effect. The formulations also include beet-derived betaine to help moisturize skin.

The routine starts with the Jeju Cherry Blossom Skin (P1,050 for 200ml) that acts as a toner. It can be used with a cotton pad for a little bit of manual exfoliation, or it can be patted on for skincare layering. Follow up with the Jeju Cherry Blossom Lotion (P920 for 100ml) that works as the emulsion layer to hydrate dry and dull skin. The Jeju Cherry Blossom Jelly Cream (P1,300 for 50ml) is a watery-jelly moisturizer that helps achieve those bouncy and dewy skin goals. Finally, there’s the Jeju Cherry Blossom Tone-Up Cream (P1,300 for 50ml) for an instant brightening effect.

I was impressed by how light everything is! The combination of watery and gel textures make for easy and comfortable skincare layering. All have a cherry blossom scent that’s noticeable but not overpowering. I recommend smelling the testers first to see if it’s your cup of tea.

During the launch event, participants were treated to accessory-making and beauty workshops while learning about the brand’s latest skincare creations. During the skincare demo, I learned that mixing the Tone-Up Cream with the Jelly Cream is a great way to get a boost of hydration with a subtle radiance.  Check out that glow on their model!

I tried the Tone-Up Cream for several days, and it was far from that I expected... in a good way! TBH, I’ve always been afraid to use tone-up creams because the ones I’ve previously tried all had an obvious white cast that looked like a thick layer of powder. As someone who is naturally pale, I don’t relish the thought of looking like a ghost.

With the Jeju Cherry Blossom Tone-Up Cream, however, it feels more like skincare with an added bonus of skin-brightening and evening out the complexion. The baby pink gel-cream formula feels like a light gel moisturizer that my skin absorbs quickly. There’s no stickiness or greasiness afterwards. The tone-up effect is also instantaneous, reducing the redness around my nose and producing a dewy finish. That glowy sheen reflects light in a way that subtly helps draw attention away from my dark circles, hyperpigmentation, and patches of uneven skin tone. I do still need concealer for more coverage on my blemishes, but the results are already fairly impressive on bare skin alone.

With light to medium coverage makeup over the Tone-Up Cream, there is still a perceptible brightening of the skin. I did a half-face challenge using the Innisfree Tone-Up Cream on one side of the face as a radiance primer, while the other half of my face was bare underneath. Even after applying my normal dose of setting powder, the toned-up side of my skin still looks dewy! Granted, it also became oily faster, especially on my chin. But that is a common effect with dewy finish products.
