What’s New with Generation Happy Skin? A Review of Their Latest Bases and Tints
Happy Skin’s Generation Happy Skin line keeps leveling up with every relaunch! Each time, they manage to add something fresh and exciting, whether it’s new shades or entirely new products—just like they did last year. They’ve been listening closely to their consumers, which is clear from the thoughtful updates: improved leak-proof packaging, gorgeous new shades, and even a brand-new addition to the lineup. These updates were unveiled at the launch last November 21, and I’m excited to share my thoughts on their revamped bases and lip products.
The Bases
Both the Generation Happy Skin Weightless Pressed Powder SPF20 (₱549) and the Generation Happy Skin Blurring Skin Tint (₱649) now feature updated rounded-edge packaging. The Skin Tint’s leak-proof design is a thoughtful upgrade, especially for those of us who need to toss it into a bag in a rush.
For the Weightless Pressed Powder, which comes in three shades, I chose Medium Beige, and it works well with my skin tone. The added SPF20 is a nice bonus, though it’s still important to wear sunscreen underneath. The powder does a good job of blurring pores and reducing redness, making it suitable for everyday use. That said, it doesn’t completely cover my undereye circles.
I have dry skin, so I can’t comment on its longevity for oily skin types, but on me, it feels light and comfortable without emphasizing any dryness.
For the Blurring Skin Tint, which is available in eight shades, Light Medium is recommended for those with light to medium skin tones and neutral undertones. I opted for this shade instead of Medium because I felt the undertone matched me better at the time, though the lighting might have influenced my choice. Interestingly, Light Medium leans slightly warmer than Medium, so I’d suggest swatching it in person to find your best match.
I appreciate how lightweight the formula feels, making it comfortable for daily wear. The coverage is just right—not too sheer, not too heavy—perfect for a natural, polished look. While it has a matte finish that I like, I noticed I need to prep my skin well with moisturizer to avoid dry patches, especially on areas prone to flaking.
The Lips
The Generation Happy Skin Water Lip & Cheek Tint (₱399), a crowd favorite with over a million units sold since 2018, now comes in leak-proof packaging and features five new shades. Among these, Saucy is a rose red, while Whimsical is a coral peach. I typically lean towards rosy and pink tones, but Whimsical turned out to be a surprisingly refreshing choice.
The other shades include Fearless, a deep berry; Offbeat, a warm brown; and Carefree, a blush nude. What I love about this product is its versatility—it blends seamlessly on both the lips and cheeks, making it a great multitasker for quick, fuss-free looks.
The Generation Happy Skin Glossy Tint (₱399) is a product I’m already familiar with, having reviewed it during my search for mask-proof tints at the height of the pandemic. Back then, Blossom was my favorite among the four shades I tried, and it’s the only one from that batch still available now.
This time, the line has been refreshed with three new shades. It’s nice to see this well-loved product evolving while keeping a classic favorite like Blossom in the mix.
I tried two of the new shades from the Glossy Tints: Tea, a pink brown, and Icon, a mauve rose. Both are flattering and perfect for everyday wear, offering a versatile range for different looks.
The formula feels improved compared to my last experience. It applies smoothly and feels comfortable on the lips. However, it does require touch-ups during the day, especially after meals. Despite this, it’s a solid choice for a fresh and easy-to-wear tint.
The New Product
Technically, this is listed as a shade under the Glossy Tints on the Happy Skin website, but it feels like a different product altogether because it’s not as opaque as the others. Meet the Generation Happy Skin Color Adapt (₱399), which transforms into a natural pink shade unique to the wearer.
It shares the same glossy finish and skin-loving ingredients as the other Glossy Tints, but what stands out is how wearable it is. Unlike some color-adapt products that turn neon pink, this one creates a subtle, flattering hue on my lips. It also works beautifully as a gloss topper for the other tints, adding versatility to your routine.
All the products I mentioned are for sale individually, but Happy Skin has two curated sets of a Blurring Skin Tint, a Water Lip & Cheek Tint, and a Color Adapt Tint that come with a glazed pouch. The Generation Happy Skin Light Medium Full Set (P1,499 sale price) has the shades Light Medium and Carefree while the Generation Happy Skin Medium Natural Full Set (P1,499 sale price) has the shades Medium Natural and Saucy.
Happy Skin products can be purchased online at their website, Lazada, and Shopee. For a full list of the stores you can visit online or in person, just go to the Store Locator page on the Happy Skin website.
