Hot Right Now: The Garnier Micellar Water is in the PH, finally!

I’ve been on the hunt for a new micellar water to try for a while now - something cheap but truly good. I keep seeing the one from Garnier so it’s been on my list forever after reading stellar reviews pretty much everywhere on the internet! I’ve been a bit impatient about it being available here. As luck would have it, Garnier Philippines invited us to a special lunch at Happy Garden Café to launch this much-awaited product!

A lot of people would say there are no rules when it comes to makeup but I beg to disagree. There is one rule that every makeup lover should follow religiously: taking it all off properly at the end of the day! No matter how tired you are or how long and crappy your day has been, you need to remove all your makeup if you don’t want it to clog your pores and bring you nasty breakouts. With the new Garnier Micellar Water, cleaning up becomes an easy, uncomplicated process. It promises to shorten your nightly skincare routine because it acts as a cleanser, a toner, and a moisturizer in one!

Hot tip: If you’re a busy girl who and need to save time, grab a bottle so cleansing can be #AlwaysAQuickie! Honestly, I now prefer Garnier’s micellar water formula over Bifesta’s, which has been a long-time favorite. I find it really effective at removing even my toughest mascara, and it takes me just two soaked cotton pads to fully remove a day’s worth of heavy makeup. I like how it makes my skin feel clean, soft, and supple without the tight or oil-slick feeling.

The key is to hold the cotton pad in place for a few seconds before gently swiping the product off. Allowing it to “soak” gives the micellar water more time to break down the makeup and make removal so much easier. No intense rubbing required! Personally I still prefer to double cleanse but for extremely lazy days or when I have to pack light, this is a great option.

Swatched an eyeliner, liquid matte lipstick, contour stick and foundation on my arm. I held the micellar water-soaked cotton pad over the swatches for just a few seconds before swiping. Everything came off easily!

The Garnier Micellar Water will be available in two variants this December. The pink bottle is suitable for dry to normal, sensitive skin, while the blue bottle is for oily-acne prone girls. The biggest surprise of all is that it’s even cheaper than Maybelline and L’Oreal’s take on the makeup remover. The 125 ml bottle will retail for P149 while the 400ml will be priced at only P249. That’s a 0.6225 pesos per ml steal!

Rumor has it that the Garnier Micellar Water is the closest dupe to the OG Bioderma, which retails for around P1,300 for 100ml. I’ve never tried Bioderma myself so I’ll let Liz update you on the smackdown when she tries it.

Are you excited for the Garnier Micellar Water yet? Will you be getting the pink or blue variant?
