Love: Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Cushion Compact SPF50 PA+++
Skin, skin, skin. Aside from monochromatic and uber matte colors, glowing skin is the biggest beauty trend in 2016. There are many ways to get that flawless, illuminated complexion but my top recommendation is the strange creature known as the cushion compact.
Cushion compacts came out about five years ago. They became famous in Korea, and soon enough every brand started producing their own versions. It's only last year, however, when the earnest competition for the best cushion compact began.
The Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Cushion Compact SPF50 PA+++ (P2,900) is the Natural Skin Queen's latest foundation. Bobbi took her time creating this because she wanted to perfect the formula - she wanted coverage that looks like skin, and a glow that needs no added highlighter! Indeed, this compact delivers both.
Each compact is vacuum sealed. You can buy refills separately.
It's deceptively thin at first, but a few more pats can cover minor blemishes and even light under eye circles. It feels like nothing when worn even though it has impressive sun protection at SPF50 PA+++!
Spot-concealed then set with translucent powder, the Bobbi Brown Cushion Compact can stay put all day as long as you retouch every few hours.
The sponge it comes with is soft yet it has a very dense surface. It really is the best applicator for the cushion formula. Believe me, I've tried so many different brushes and sponges, but that specific type of sponge is the only one that can apply the foundation the way it's meant to look. Remember to clean it every week or so.
Here's how I apply Bobbi's Cushion Compact:
Staying power is about eight hours when set and retouched with powder. It's something that would work for all skin types, I feel! As for the shade, the Light to Medium looks good on me, but I would have wanted something a weeeee bit darker. Maybe I'll go for one shade down once I run out.
So there you go! I highly recommend the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Cushion Compact SPF50 PA+++ since it's lightweight, has great sun protection, coverage, and brightens skin impressively. It's quite pricey, but it's worth the cash if you love and trust Bobbi's foundations.
