Bifesta, We Missed You

Fellow PV girls Gett and Stacie spotted a few bottles of our beloved Bifesta Cleansing Lotion in SM Beauty, and we can't help but wonder: are they back for good? The Japanese brand of makeup removers, which appear to be sporting a new packaging design, was supposed to have pulled out of the country last year. We're keeping our fingers crossed for a J-beauty comeback!

Gimme Brow... Back

Ouch. Talk about a painful recall for one of the world’s favorite quirky brands! In case you missed it, Benefit Cosmetics has announced a voluntary recall of one of its most famous products - the Benefit Gimme Brow. Apparently, batches of the tinted brow gel “failed to meet” Benefit's quality standards and are being recalled for a full refund.

No word yet on what exactly is wrong with the product or which batches are affected, but Benefit has reiterated that there is no need for panic, as the product will not cause any risk or allergic reaction when applied correctly. The company simply recommends that you stop using the product and instead send it back for a refund. It has already been pulled out of the Sephora and Ulta websites. If you bought the product in the last few months, it's best to check with the store if they're complying with the recall.

My Mini Me

Travel size, sample size, and all those adorable minis - we can’t help it, a tiny version of our favorite products always manage to find a way into our makeup bags! They might not be the most “value-for-money” items but they sure are cute (and quite portable). They also double as the perfect tester product. Not sure about which shade suits you? Buy a mini! That way, you don’t commit to a full size product just yet. With that thought in mind, MAC Cosmetics just launched its cutest line yet - My Little MAC! That's 10 of their cult classic shades, in mini form!

The pint size bullets will set you back $10 each (much cheaper than the $18 you would spend on a full size lippie) and come in the classic colors. Choose from Velvet Teddy, Whirl, Chili, Mehr, Sin, Diva, Russian Red, Twig, D is for Danger, and Ruby Woo! The mini collection will also feature 8 My Little MAC Lip Glasses ($10) in the shades Oh Baby, C-Thru, Love Child, Prrr, Nymphette, Spite, Oyster Girl, and Candy Box! Shop the adorable lippies on the MAC site or wait and see if they hit up local MAC stores soon!

It’s About Time

It’s so refreshing when makeup brands consider ethical practices when it comes to their products. Whether it's practicing cruelty-free testing or using vegan ingredients, brands are expanding their lines (and minds) and making the beauty industry that much more sustainable. That said, high-end luxury brand Hourglass has made a bold statement. The company promises that by 2020, ALL of their products will be 100% vegan! Although half of their collection is already vegan, some of their products will be getting a reformulation to fit the vegan classification.

You can expect the Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick, Girl Lip Stylo, Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder, Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush, Panoramic Long Wear Lip Liner, Hidden Corrective Concealer, Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara, Modernist Eyeshadow Palette, and the Gel Eye Liners to be getting a makeover in formulation. No word yet on whether this will change the finish, feel, or longevity of the products but talk about a step in the right direction! Are you feeling this vegan makeover?
