4U2 Cosmetics: Are they worth the hype?

You’ve probably seen this Thai cosmetics brand making the rounds on Youtube and online beauty communities. 4U2 has actually been in Watsons for as long as I can remember, with their packaging and marketing designed to appeal to teens. The brand has since upgraded their look, and the renewed interest has led to speculation that their cream blushes might be dupes for the popular 3CE Multi Pots. I’ll cut to the chase and tell you now that they are NOT.

I did buy two shades of their Love Me More Cream Blushes (P294) and while they are nicely pigmented cream to powder formulas, both dried out just a few months after I purchased them. I was disappointed by that purchase but the brand has other products that caught my eye, so I decided to review those instead and find out if 4U2 is really worth the hype.

Celebrity BB Cream (P384 for 20g)

This face base caught my eye because it has SPF 35 PA+++ and looks pretty handy for when I’m traveling. It only comes in two shades, and I chose the darker one for my NC25-30 skin tone. The BB claims to have moisturizing, repairing, brightening, and protective properties while being able to create an even skin tone.

Right off the bat, the packaging, consistency, and application reminded me of the blk Skin Tint Sun Shield. It has the same thin and runny consistency that feels very lightweight on the skin. Blending is very effortless but it only gives light coverage. It did not cover my blemishes, and layering won’t add more coverage. I liked how it evened out my skin tone and gave me an effortless healthy glow, which I think supports its moisturizing claim. I wore it for about 8 hours while malling, but it sadly did not last long on my combination oily skin. This formula is probably better suited for those with dry to normal skin because of its subtle dewy effect.

The price looks attractive for a BB cream but when you consider that 20g is not a lot of product and goes very quickly, it’s not actually that cheap. It’s a nice product but the price is kinda steep considering the amount of product you are getting.

Love Me More Powder Blush (P399 for 5g)

While I was disappointed with the cream version, the powder blushes offered such lovely shade options and looked very promising when swatched. One swipe gives full pigmentation, and you only need to dip your brush once to pick up enough product. In fact, use your brush to pick up only a small amount because the texture is a bit powdery and you’ll need to blend quickly to diffuse the color before it sets.

It’s worth the learning curve though because the blush stayed for a good 8 to 9 hours without retouch on my oily skin! If you are a fan of drunk blush look, I’d say this is perfect for you. The shades that I choose are all matte shades but they also have shimmery ones! My personal favorite is M12 I WANT TO MARRY YOU

You’re Mine Signature Matte Lipstick (P294)

The lippies were the biggest surprise discovery for me! I have been looking for a hydrating alternative to Sunnies Face Fluffmatte Lipsticks, and found my answer in these brand best-sellers. Plus they’re cheaper and have more variety in terms of shade options! There are 18 matte shades divided into six color tones: Orange Nude, Red, Pink Nude, Brown, Pink Rose, and Orange.

The texture is very smooth and creamy, and it glides effortlessly when I put it on. It can be used on the cheeks as the formula is easy to blend. I get a good 5 to 6 hours of wear with this lipstick, which is longer than my wear time with Sunnies. Like most other lipsticks, it fades when you eat a lot or eat something oily. You can apply it very lightly like a tint, or normally as full-on color. I got YRM 05 My One and Only (baby pink nude) and YRM 07 My Sweetie Pie (dark red pink rose), which is my favorite.

I’m really glad I gave 4U2 another chance! I have surprisingly been wowed by their powder blushes and lipsticks, and those are truly the ones worth hyping about. Performance is great, the shades are trendy, and the prices are affordable!

4U2 Cosmetics is available on Shopee and at select SM Beauty locations.
