Almost P3,000 worth of cosmetics for P1,100: The BYS Makeup Pro Glamourbox

I can write thorough blog posts in only 30 minutes, but it's the photos that really kill me. Shooting and post-processing product pics takes about two hours and all the wind out of me! It's exhausting as well as tedious. That's why recently I've been experimenting with using my iPhone 6 to take and post-process photos here at Project Vanity. I'm happy with the results so far! I'm still not convinced enough to use my phone exclusively for my pictures here, but I figured it's a powerful tool in lessening my backlogs and getting time-sensitive posts to you a lot faster. 

The iPhone 6 won't beat a proper camera but I feel it can product pretty enough pictures that will get my point across to you. What do you think? Do you like these pictures?

Anyway! Let's get to the a special box that's been stealing the local beauty social media scene lately. Two days ago Glamourbox came out with their special edition BYS Makeup Pro Glamourbox (P1,100) in celebration of the Aussie cosmetic brand's third anniversary here in the Philippines. What makes this box thoroughly exciting is the fact that you get six full sized products inside worth almost P3,000 for only P1,100. It's insane! It's also the first time that I've seen BYS's version of the Naked palette.

I also love the fact that the products inside are not "latak" (or in this context excess stock that the brand is obviously just trying to get rid of). You know what I mean? These beauty boxes often disappoint their subscribers/buyers because the stuff in them are things most people aren't particularly excited about. The value per piece is there, and it exceeds what we would pay for them, but sometimes we buy them only because they're a good deal. 

The best box is the kind where you get an awesome deal AND products that make our hearts skip a beat (or two). That's what I feel about the BYS Makeup Pro Glamourbox!

Inside, you'll find a few BYS best-sellers. Here's a list! Everything is full-sized.

BYS Nude Eyeshadow Palette (P1,199). This is a set of 12 richly pigmented eyeshadows that range from neutral to smoky. Only three out of 12 are matte but this is not an issue for me as I normally prefer colors with shimmer. I do love the shades included. There are the must-have naked colors and then some fun dramatic ones. I find that they're so pigmented that you won't need to use primer to get them to look vibrant!

The packaging is a lookalike of the Urban Decay Naked palettes, except it's made of plastic and not quite as luxurious in your hand. Still, it's not really something you'd take out anyway and 12 shades for P1,199 ain't too bad at all.  

BYS Contour Trio in Sweet (P449. I spotted this in Cosmo's August issue. It actually won the Beauty Award for best contouring palette! That made me really curious because I'm sure Cosmo got dozens of choices. Aside from the palette, this is what I'm most excited about.

The palette has three matte colors: a pink blush, a white highlighter, and a warm contour shade. 

BYS Blush Duo in Miss Pink (P349). I had this exact same palette before. I liked it! The pigmentation just has to be managed since the colors are so strong off the pot, but I remember that the staying power was very good. It just has to be used sparingly. The two bright pinks might look scary but they're surprisingly natural when worn.

BYS Brow Definition Kit in Wow Brown (P399). Ooooh, this looks good! I love the three mixable and multi-purpose shades + the clear wax. The powders can also be used as matte neutral eyeshadows, while the black can be for lining the eyes. I'm looking forward to playing with this!

BYS Matte Lipstick in Salsa (P299). This is also have somewhere in my kit. Salsa is a bordeaux red lipstick that's perfect for fall. 

BYS Nail Polish (P199). I believe that there are assorted shades in the boxes. I got pink! I have yet to test if it's good.
