A glow to spend for: the Chanel CC Cream

The Chanel CC Cream SPF30 PA+++ (P2,950 at BeautyMNL) is one product I've always had my eye on. I would see it in airports and Duty Free stores and I'd gravitate towards it, swatching it, always changing my mind at the last minute. Now that I've got it though, I'm sorry I didn't try it sooner! It's an excellent mid-coverage base that brings out the best of my skin. It brightens and hydrates wonderfully, and very little goes a long way!

I like how it blurs out my lines and bumps, and how it takes down redness effectively. I shot FOTD photos below just yesterday. Believe me, I've got a hot mess of a break out going on my chin right now. The bumps are not that raised anymore but my chin is full of red marks. Ugh! I think it's because of the new toothpaste I bought. Anyway. The Chanel CC Cream neutralized most of the redness even before it came close to a lick of concealer.

And! Are you seeing the nice glow on my skin? It's subtle but you can't miss it!

Two downsides, however: this product doesn't quite settle completely - that is, it doesn't feel like it completely dries. It feels like it's constantly sitting on top of my combi face. I imagine it'll fare better on dry skin! What I do though is to just use it sparingly during the summer. When it's rainier and when I travel in colder weather, I'm sure this base would be perfect.

The second con (specific to me and not the product) is that the shade I got, 20 Beige, is quite light for my skin tone. As in several shades lighter. It's not too obvious because it eventually goes down a few steps to adjust to my skin and I also used a powder foundation in the right shade to set it, but yeah it's light. It's workable but I would prefer a close to perfect shade match.

The Chanel CC Cream is quite expensive but if you have dry, dull skin, it's a good buy. Combination skin can also work with it but with certain necessary adjustments to the weather and the setting product. I love how it makes my skin look, and it has broad spectrum sun protection too!

If you're oily though you might want to try something that would set completely, something less emollient. Hope this helps! Let me know which CC creams are in your hot list lately!
