Skincare Week: VMV Hypoallergenics Armada Lip Balm SPF60+

Que sera, sera, whatever will be, will be, Doris Day croons to a rapt audience. The song is beautiful, but I can't help thinking it is overly fatalistic. The future isn't ours to see, yes, but it can be ours to shape. We just need to stop believing that we have no say on how we'll end up, or the kind of person we'll be!

Well yeah, we don't have control on the great cosmic scheme of things but within our own lives and timeline I think we can be so much. We just need to know and work towards it.

So good morning! For my fourth post on Skincare Week, I have a high SPF lip balm. ^_^ Check out the VMV Hypoallergenics Armada Lip Balm SPF60+ (P770)!

I thought you'd like to know about this because most of us tend to focus on "sun-proofing" our bodies but neglect the lips. Our lips, one of the most sensitive areas of skin, receive the same sun exposure as the rest of our face. But do we protect it properly?

SPF20 is a good number to start but with summer this hot, it's important to increase the protection even if you're not at the beach. That's where the VMV Armada Lip Balm comes in, with its cool SPF60 and full-spectrum bad-assery!

At first I thought it'd be thick, sticky, and smell strongly of sunscreen. Surprise, it didnt! The balm is thick at first but melts on contact with the lips. It's super moisturizing nonetheless. It feels like a normal balm, and has a glossy finish - so glossy in fact, you can use it as a topper for your favorite lipstick if you want some extra shine! It's completely colorless so it would work with any lipstick.

The Armada balm is also scentless and tasteless. As with all VMV products, it was created for those with sensitive skin.

Overall, I highly recommend the VMV Hypoallergenics Armada Lip Balm SPF60+ as your year-round lip moiturizer. It doesn't feel like sunscreen at all even though that's the best thing that it offers. I love that it's super moisturizing so it's great for chapped lips, and it's glossy so you can use it as a lip gloss if whenever you feel like. Great stuff! I'm definitely going to be using this regularly!

Confession time: do you use SPF on your lips? Why or why not?
