Clinique Cheek Pop in 01 Ginger Pop

In my sea of pretty things, the Clinique Cheek Pop (P1,550) is one that immediately stands out. Who can miss that gorgeous daisy-embossed compact? Packaging aside though, this is a good blush that's totally natural and easy to build up according to your preference. It has a silky texture that's not too hard or too soft so the design won't be ruined prematurely!

This shade is called 01 Ginger Pop, one of the four in Clinique's spring blush collection. It's a warm mid-tone ginger peach that has a satiny finish. It applies sheer but looks great after you add a few more layers. Yes, it's perfect for those who can't help but brush makeup on with a heavy hand!

The powder surface is harder than normal so you may have difficulty in picking up pigment at first, but that's just as well since you won't want to ruin the flower embossing too soon. I suggest using a fluffy, round, not-too-dense powder blush to maximize the color and finish of the Cheek Pop.

Here's a thick swatch of Ginger Pop. This shade is perfect for morenas, it'll bring out the best of your skintone!

Ginger Pop is super pretty on me. It's a bit washed out here (again, camera settings - still struggling with my new one!) but in person it's this reddish peach that makes my skin look brighter and fresher. Well, that's what blushes are for! I love how the color adheres to my skin like it's coming from within. This doesn't just sit on top - it melts and blends seamlessly like I'm really blushing!

That being said, the staying power of this new formula is just okay. It lasts about 4-5 hours on me. Considering the price, I wish it would've been one of those long-wearing ones but in any case I don't have an issue with retouching (if I even need to). I'm only out an average of 5 hours anyway.

Bottom line, you must try the Clinique Cheek Pop in 01 Ginger Pop if you love gorgeous blushes in terms of packaging and color. I'd say it's a one-of-a-kind blush that deserves a spot in your kit. ^_^ It's not something I'd recommend for oily skin but it'll stay on fine if you're dry to combi.

What do you think? Do you have a thing for achingly pretty blushes?
