My top 10 favorite finds last May

Last month was a good one since I found so many interesting beauty products! It was quite a challenge to whittle down this list to ten items, but it must be done. Here are my ten favorite things from May.

My review of the Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder is one of the most popular posts last month - and for good reason! It's an amazing powder that truly controls oil and extends the wear of my makeup. I wish that it has more, skin-toned coverage, but it's okay since I have a hack for that. ;) I usually mix this with my Snoe Poudre Extraordinaire, another awesome powder that I've been consistently using for months now.

CC creams are slowly but steadily making their way to the Philippines. One of the first to arrive is the Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream. It's an illuminating, light coverage face base that makes skin glow with only one layer. It has the Moisture Surge base which also happens to be my favorite moisturizer of all time! This saves me extra steps in my routine since this can be my primer, moisturizer, SPF, illuminator, and light foundation in one bottle.

Another CC cream I'm loving is the Etude House CC Cream in Glow. I honestly didn't think I would like it this much! The thing is, I discovered that it's great to wear when I practice yoga. It doesn't dissolve into a mess even when I'm sweating heavily plus it makes my skin look good while I'm in class. Will blog more about my favorite beauty products for yoga next time. ;)

Loose powder is great for setting makeup but a) it's messy and b) it's time consuming as you need to even out those bits properly. When I'm in a rush, I pick up the Clinique Even Better Powder Makeup SPF 25/PA+++ to set my makeup or use straightaway as my foundation for the day. Convenient and classy, this Clinique powder is perfect for girls with barely any time to do their makeup.

The Bobbi Brown Sheer Color Cheek Tint in Sheer Cherry is another favorite of mine for yoga. (Bleh I should just really sit down and write that post!) Anyway, this is a pretty cheek AND lip tint that takes no time to blend out beautifully. It has a decent staying power and pigmentation, as well!

Every girl must have a black and brown basic eyeliner. It must be reliable, pigmented, and easy to use in a rush. I feel that the K-Palette 1-Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eye Pencil is that eyeliner! Just make sure to let it set on dry lids properly (with primer or some powder) to get all-day wear.

But what if you want more adventurous, exciting colors but aren't willing to spend a ton of money to collect them? Well then you would LOVE the Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil. They're only P150 a pop, but they are incredibly vivid with a nice staying power to boot! You must try them out when you get the chance.

Cream eyeshadow fill that void where you want to wear eyeshadow but don't have the time or the skill to perfect it. They're easy to use and can really make your eyes stand out in a couple of minutes. ;) I am enjoying the Clinique Chubby Stick For Eyes since they don't require a primer to stay on, plus they come in such pretty colors besides. The stick form makes it uber convenient to carry around and re-apply as needed.

I probably need to have "Cure Natural Aqua Gel Fan" stamped on my forehead. You know, I haven't even felt the need to get a facial in a while, that's how effective it is for me! But I will probably need to get a facial eventually for deeper cleansing as this exfoliator just delays the inevitable. :P I've heard that some girls break out with this - which sucks! - but I highly encourage you to grab the free samples at Beauty Bar. If it works for you, you will not regret that you took the chance.

Last but not the least, here's the Nivea Baby Smoothy Cream. This isn't just any ol' moisturizer. It's great for sensitive skin, plus it has a soothing effect too. If you're prone to rashes and itching, the calendula extract in this cream can help calm that irritation. It can also be used as a facial moisturizer. :)
