Blush for eyes: Guerlain L'Ecrin 4 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in 14 Les Fauves

Whenever I use the Guerlain L'Ecrin 4 Couleurs Eyeshadow (P2,998) I never fail to get compliments. People think I did something new with my skin or wore a new, more flattering blush. They say I look less tired. At first I thought that it's everything else but this palette, but now that I think about it I mostly get those sorts of compliments whenever I have it on.

So why?

Our eyes are the first things that other people look at when they see us. It's the focus of our whole face, the main feature by which our emotional and physical status are read. If your eyes and droopy and tired then your companion will think you're tired; if they are happy and bright, then you will appear to radiate that all over your face.

My theory is that the Guerlain Les Fauves palette is like "blush" for our eyes - it brightens and freshens that particular area with rich hues of coral, copper, and darkened champagne. They are warm and flattering (on me), as you can see here!

If you're very fair then this would be more of a smoky palette on you, but if you're mid to dark Asian like me then this brings out the golden tones of the skin juuuuust right. You can intensify and combine the colors as you see fit so I'm inclined to think that it's extremely versatile - day or night, this would be an indispensable palette to have.

Swatches. Check out the reddish copper on the extreme left, then a rosy copper, matte coral with gold flecks, and darkened metallic champagne

Worn

The price tag is steep, but it's worth it. :) These eyeshadows are so pigmented and smooth that you won't need to wear an eyeshadow primer to make them vibrant and long-wearing. The dark copper on the left could be used as an eyeliner, and you can expect it to stick all day (on normal to combination skin).

The eyeshadows are housed in a gorgeous gold case, which comes with a black suede cover to keep out dust. Guerlain packaging is incredibly luxurious and the palettes are not exempted from those standards.

So there you go! I highly recommend the Guerlain L'Ecrin 4 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in 14 Les Fauves if you have some cash to burn and want a set of gorgeous colors you will finish up. The palette is so good, you can do a complete look with just the double-ended sponge that comes with it. I would still suggest using brushes though. ;) Detail is everything!

What are your Guerlain favorites?
