Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Beauty's Touch

A product's packaging is important to the overall experience of using that product. It's not just how it actually looks like on you; it's also about how it looks like on your dresser, how it feels like when you hold it in your hands. That's why it's not surprising that people gravitate to good-looking products. The experience of using and keeping something gorgeous is just too good to pass up.

The Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Beauty's Touch (P490 at Digital Traincase) called out to me as soon as I laid eyes on it. I love the rosebud surface of the powder compact! It's too pretty to touch no? The compact itself feels like thick, sturdy plastic with a gold base. Very luxe and chic.

Packaging oohs and ahhs aside, this powder packs a pretty wallop on skin. It has no visible shimmers or glitter but it gives this subtle pinkish glow on my face with only a few swipes. I like to apply it all over, but it can also be used as a highlighter (cheekbones, bride of the nose, cupid's bow, chin) or as a sheer blush.

Note that this isn't designed to be pigmented. It's designed to provide a soft glow or a natural highlighter, at most.

I have to admit, at first I was worried that it might make me look too shiny. That's not possible with this product! You can't go wrong with application even with a heavy hand. It's sheer so there's a lot of room to make mistakes.

Lasting power is just okay. Four hours tops before it starts to fade, but again this is something you can bring along for touchups. Milani recommends using a kabuki brush to get the desired effect, and I quite agree with this. Use a very dense blush brush if you want to use it as a blush.

Used as a blush and as an overall powder

And that's it really! I love the Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Beauty's Touch because the packaging and effect on skin is gorgeous, plus it's quite affordable at only P490. You should try it if you want to revive, smoothen, and freshen up your skin. ;)

What do you think? Yay or nay?
