L'egere White Multi BB Cream

I have read in tons of blogs that the Koreans and Japanese make some of the best makeup and skincare out there. However, the obvious road block is that this stuff is in another country! The good news is that there are a lot of enterprising Filipinas who are very much aware of this demand and know the best products to sell online. One of them is Bon, owner of a store called We Have It 43. I have seen her store way before she approached me, and I was duly impressed by the wide - and I mean WIDE - range of products available there.

She carries popular BB cream brands like Legere, BRTC, Missha, Etude House, Dr Jart, and Liole. She also has famous Japanese brands like Majolica Majorca, Shiseido, Kanebo Lunasol, and Jill Stuart. There are more than 70 brands to choose from! What I like most about the store though is the fact that the prices are not super hiked up. They're more than fair, actually. Bon can afford to do this because she is based in Taiwan and she has direct access to the products, which she ships to a friend here.

Anyway, when she asked me if I want to try some of her wares, I asked her what her best seller is. She pointed to the L'egere White Multi BB Cream (P1,000), which she has sold more than 300 tubes of! I was skeptical at first, until I read that it has a 4.4/5 rating at Makeupalley.

The short of it is that this is the best BB cream I've tried to date. Here's why!

What I love about the product

  • Finally, a BB cream that is not super white on me! I'd say it looks pretty natural (though not a 100% shade match). When it comes out of the tube, it's a medium-tan color. But it lightens as you blend it in your skin. It's a perfect shade match with NC30 skin; I'm NC35.
  • It delivers good coverage. It evens out my skintone, hides lighter blemishes and redness. I'd say it's a medium coverage foundation, but it doesn't look cakey as it allows my skin to shine through.
  • Has no greasy after-feel.
  • The lasting power is impressive. Unlike other BB creams I've tried, this doesn't fade out easily during the day, provided that it's set with powder. That should be SOP anyway.
  • Has sun protection, though the SPF count is not stated. Most BB creams have SPF.
  • Quite affordable at P1,000 per 50ml. I don't know what the price is in Korea, but I don't mind paying one grand for a product this good.
  • Classy silver packaging. I like that the tube comes with a seal and that it dispenses the right amount of product.
  • A little goes a long way.
  • NO BREAKOUTS. Whoot!

It first appears as a medium-tan color

It's not beige or yellow. I'd say this has a neutral undertone.

What I don't like about the product

  • It dries too quickly, so it can be a bit of work to spread it around and get even coverage. I sometimes have to resort to rubbing! You need to work quickly with this BB cream.
  • This doesn't moisturize too well. If you have oily skin, maybe it's enough, but for my combination skin, I still need to use moisturizer beforehand. In this regard, the L'egere BB cream is closer to foundation than the traditional BB cream.

Neutral

  • Oil control is just so-so. I oil up in 3-4 hours.

Recommendation

How many times have we wished for a BB cream that doesn't make us look like ashy ghosts? Most BB creams I've tried are more suitable for light skin (NC20-25). This is the only one that can work with light-medium skin (NC30-35, NC 40 is stretching it).

This is a great alternative to foundation, since it is lighter and (if clever BB cream marketing is to be believed) healthier for the skin in the long run. I also like it mainly because of the lovely, natural finish.

If you have dry or combination skin, you will really need to moisturize beforehand.

Verdict

I love it. It's great as a makeup base, or by itself with a bit of concealer + finishing powder and I'm ready to go.

Have you tried the L'egere White Multi BB Cream? How did you find it? If not, what's your favorite BB cream?
