Pond's Gold Radiance: a literal gold mine

When the kind folks at Pond's invited me to a soft product launch last night, I was wondering: knowing the extensive skincare lines the brand has come up with to address every Pinay skin concern, what else can they possibly have up their sleeves?

The answer is delightfully surprising: gold! I was completely caught off guard. Can it be that something as luxe as real gold be available in drugstore skincare products? I remember reading a piece on Bellasugar about one of the most expensive creams in the world called Orlane Creme Royal. The product has real 24k gold infused with the cream and costs a - hold your breath - whopping $650 or roughly P28,000 for only 1.7 ounces of product.

The logic is that gold has antioxidant, anti-aging, and brightening properties when regularly applied to the skin. Pond's apparently had the same idea as Orlane and created a skincare line called Gold Radiance which should supposedly brighten dull skin and give this youthful glow.

The Gold Radiance line: Radiance Revealed Facial Foam, Youthful Glow Day Cream, Precious Youth Serum, Youth Reviving Eye Cream

Now I can't tell for sure if there is genuine gold in this skincare line, but whether that's the case or not, this line is definitely more expensive than their existing ones. I don't have the SRP info with me right now, but they said the introductory price should start at P800+. Gold Radiance will cost you a pretty penny, but if it works then why not? I'll be using this line in the coming weeks and I'll let you know if it works!

The official launch of Pond's Gold Radiance will be next week, during the Philippine Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2011. You heard it here first! ;)
