Super Exciting News: Supergoop! is now officially in the Philippines

Yes, you read that right – cult-favorite sun care brand Supergoop! has finally arrived in the country!

Created in 2005 by Holly Thaggard, Supergoop!’s plan back then was to bring sunscreen to different schools in Texas and Louisiana. As a mom and former elementary school teacher, Holly wanted to encourage children to develop the daily habit of protecting their skin.

Today, Holly continues to do just that, having donated more than 6,800 SPF pumps to 1,900 classrooms (and counting) across America! In addition, Holly has expanded her target audience from children to everyone with over 40 clean sunscreen formulas to date. No wonder Supergoop! is known as the Experts in SPF™.

Given the number of available sunscreen formulas, Supergoop! made sure that there is at least one sun care product for every single person. Now, the brand has kindly given me three to try – Glowscreen, Mineral Mattescreen, and Unseen Sunscreen.

(L-R): Glowscreen, Mineral Mattescreen and Unseen Sunscreen

Glowscreen

The Glowscreen SPF40 (P1,390/20ml and P2,450/50ml) has a lightweight formula that gives hydration and pearlescence to the skin. It also acts as a luminous, makeup-gripping primer. This chemical sunscreen has the following active ingredients: Avobenzone (3%), Octisalate (5%), and Octocrylene (10%).

Mineral Mattescreen

The Mineral Mattescreen SPF40 (P2,400/45ml) is also a makeup-gripping primer, blurring the appearance of pores, uneven texture and fine lines. Matte in finish, this sunscreen is formulated with light beige Mineral Blend Technology to help reduce the white cast and flashback, which are typical with most mineral SPF. Its active ingredients are Titanium Dioxide (1.3%) and Zinc Oxide (17.4%).

Unseen Sunscreen

The Unseen Sunscreen SPF40(P1,390/20ml and P2,450/50ml) has a weightless, colorless, scentless and oil-free formula that gives the skin a velvet-like soft finish. And yes, this also works as a makeup-gripping primer and is suitable for all skin tones. Active ingredients of this sunscreen are Avobenzone (3%), Homosalate (8%), Octisalate (5%), and Octocrylene (4%).

Personal thoughts

I love all three variants! On good skin days, I use the Glowscreen as my base since it gives such a healthy glow. As a matter of fact, I found out that it also doubles up as a highlighter – perfect for when reapplying sunscreen. The Mineral Mattescreen I use the most as a primer. It just works so well under makeup. Then finally, my personal favorite among the three – the Unseen Sunscreen. It is perfect for when I want a quick and easy sunscreen application. It also works well with makeup and on good skin days, I use it as a base if I want a more matte look.

Overall, it is thrilling that we have easier access to a popular and impactful international beauty brand such as Supergoop! Aside from the three products I’ve highlighted here, other Supergoop! products available (at Lazada and SkinSmart) here are the Everyday Lotion, Antioxidant Body Mist, SPF-Shield Watery Lotion (so curious to try this), Glow Stick and so much more.

P.S. Supergoop! has a “No List,” which highlights ingredients they do not include in their products.

P.P.S. What Supergoop! product are you most excited to try?
