Radiance and serenity in a bottle: The Shiseido Ever Bloom EDP
When I'm looking for a signature scent, I gravitate towards strong, distinct, yet unabashedly feminine notes. It has to smell like power but not the aggressive kind without regard for subtlety; it has to be intelligent and focused. You can smell its presence in a room but it doesn't attempt to assault your nose with cheap tricks.
That's why I'm loving the new Shiseido Ever Bloom Eau de Parfum. I'd say this is a modern classic with radiant top notes of cyclamen, lotus, and rose essence and an enveloping base of orange blossom absolute, gardenia, and sylkoide musk. It smells clear and uplifting upon first spritz and then comes down to this serene pool of floral, woodsy musks. On me, it trails for a good five hours and melds with my skin well.
The story of Ever Bloom is quite interesting. It's inspired by an old photograph from 1940 taken by none other than Rosō Fukuhara, the son of Shiseido's founder. It was then brought to life by famed perfumer Aurelien Guichard. He says of the scent, "When creating Shiseido Ever Bloom, I wanted to bring a new fresh sensuality, a new petal blooming sensation that will leave un unforgettable impression. I imagined a transparent floral heart, clean and natural. An abstract flower that you can’t quite identify, a flower with a “blurred” outline… I think this fragrance is about serenity, happiness, sensuality."
I adore how ephemeral yet bright Ever Bloom is. If you know me, you know how this is the kind of scent I always reach for when I'm dressed to the nines! I definitely wouldn't say it's good for casual occasions, but it does suit work and social events perfectly. Smell this soon to see what I mean!
