Review Crew: What do 46 women think about the Cure Water Treatment Cream?

Cure is a Japanese brand that's most famous for their Natural Aqua Gel, a gentle exfoliator that's already at cult status. Many brands have tried to create something just like it, however, I find it's still the best at thoroughly exfoliating without damaging the skin! What many might now know is that there is one other product under the brand, a "secret" moisturizer that's formulated for oily to combination skin: the Cure Water Treatment Cream (P1,500).

This was actually created for Toyo Life factory workers initially, since the brand owners found that workers' hands get dry from opening so many cardboard boxes everyday. They didn't plan to sell it at first but it worked so well in offering relief to dry hands that they made one for the face!

I've tried this previously and enjoyed how easily it got absorbed by my skin. It literally feels like water when applied, which makes it an ideal moisturizer under makeup. It actually forms water droplets once it hits the surface of the skin and these sink in almost instantly.

But what do other people think about it - specifically, 46 other women? We sent this out to the Project Vanity Review Crew to try, and this is their maiden review! Want to know what they thought? Here's a quick breakdown!

What do people love about the Cure Water Treatment Skin Cream?

When it comes to moisturizers, I always prefer non-sticky formulas and I love the Cure's Water-like texture. It is easy to apply and was absorbed quickly by my skin with no greasy feel at all. Also, I noticed that my skin brightened in just a few nights of use. - Christine F.

The Cure Water Treatment Skin Cream gives the skin a nice hydrating feel. Oily-skinned folks will like the way it sits on the skin as it doesn't feel oily or greasy. It is also easy to spread and absorbs quickly. It behaves nicely under makeup. - Kathleen A.

I really like how cooling and lightweight this feels on my skin. I have tried this on its own, under my makeup, and even paired it with my other skincare products, and it gave me a soft yet hydrating glow each time. Plus, it didn't break me out or caused any irritation whatsoever. If I were to describe it in a short sentence, I would tell you that it's like an ice cube in gel form. I also enjoy the fact that it is unscented, which means it can be used by those who are not fond of heavily scented moisturizers. Definitely a win! I would sometimes use it to refresh my face outside when I forget to bring my facial mist with me. - Denise S.

This has been included to the list of my favorite moisturizers. I have a super oily skin and this moisturizer does not add more oil and shine to my skin. It also amazes me that upon application, the cream turns to water droplets. It leaves my skin not just looking moisturized but i can also feel that my face is really moisturized. No greasy effect, minimal sticky feeling. Left my skin feeling blooming. - Levi E.

I like that it's a very mild moisturizer, since I'm not fond of anything that has a strong odor or a heavy feel. It goes on well under makeup, especially for skin like mine that runs to oily unless I overexfoliate. I'd probably repurchase this as something I'd bring in my bag as a pick-me-up moisturizer, or as a day moisturizer under SPF. - Frankie T.

What do people think can be improved further?

I would love to see it in a refillable and clear squeeze bottle. Based on my observation, not everyone is able to keep track of how much product they have left in their tubes. (I place mine under bright lights to check how much I have left to squeeze out) I have seen my friends cut open their moisturizers that had only been consumed halfway, and they end up wasting some of the product, and in most cases, permanently move them to containers that have not been properly sanitized. On the bright side, I do like how they went with a screw cap instead of flip top covers, which break off overtime when you're not careful. I can toss this into my bag without any worries. - Denise S.

As a face moisturizer, this one’s basic and does the job. The unique texture is a plus, since it’s fun to apply. However, for its price, it only provides hydration and does not treat any other skin concern. I’m more amazed with Cure Natural Aqua Gel. - Helen B.

Although the moisturization it gives would be considered enough for oily skinned people, it might be lacking for drier skin types. Also, while it layers well with other skin care, it is best to be used last in your routine (before makeup or as final moisturizer at night) since it is an occlusive type of moisturizer - it contains silicone (Cyclopentasiloxane on the ingredients list) so those who are allergic/reacts to silicones should be careful. - Giezl I.

A more pointy nozzle would be great for the tube. I love the product but I find that that were days when I needed extra moisture/hydration and I have combination skin. It seems that people with dry skin may not get enough hydration from the product alone. It does wear well as a light moisturizer. Perhaps I would appreciate this more in the summer. - Andie M.

If it gives a little bit more moisture than it currently does, it would be a holy grail product. As it is, i use a different moisturizer at night - one that is a bit more emollient. - Nina S.

So there you go, ladies! I hope you enjoyed reading the very first Project Vanity Review Crew feature. We have more to come, so would love to know what you think! Any feedback on the Cure Cream? Does it look like something you might try?
