What you need to know and try from Deoproce, an exciting K-Beauty brand
New skincare and makeup brands coming to the country are always big and exciting news here on Project Vanity. K-beauty brands in particular are unique and trending, thanks to their often cute packaging and never-before-heard-of special ingredients.
Stealthily going under our beauty radar is Korean brand, Deoproce. They've actually been available in SM Beauty and in select Watsons outlets for some time now, and is actually a brand under one of South Korea's biggest cosmetic manufacturers, GREENCOS! GREENCOS makes for household brands like LG Household and Health Care, The Face Shop, and Hanbul Escada.
The name Deoproce is a combination of "deo" for development, "pro" for professional, "c" for cosmetics, and "e" for energy. The company specializes in making products that use natural ingredients like plant extracts, snail, spider web essence, and pig collagen in its extensive product line-up. The company has also received ISO (International Organization for Standardation) and CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) certifications, which assure us that their products are made under the strictest of standards and of good quality.

Deoproce Pure Aloe Soothing Gel 95% (P660 for 300ml)
The Pure Aloe Soothing Gel is perfect for summer or summer-like hot days which we have here year-round. Aloe vera has properties that soothe, moisturize, and help regenerate damaged skin. You can use it as a multipurpose gel for hydration, lightening scars, helping wounds heal faster, and treating diaper rash to name a few. It has a gelatinous consistency that melts when applied on the skin.
The clear gel smells distinctly of aloe and is absorbed easily by the skin. It's the leveled-up version of the common AV gel since it also has hyaluronic acid, tea tree leaf, licorice root, blueberry fruit, grapefruit, ginseng root, and olive leaf extracts to name a few.
Deoproce Hyaluronic Cooling Sun Gel SPF 50+ PA+++ (P690)
The PV girls are strong advocates of never skipping sunscreen so this is another good product to add to the stash. This one is made specifically for the face and neck with whitening, anti-wrinkle, and sun protection properties so you get more out of your sunscreen than the coverage.
The tube packaging comes with a built-in pump and I use around two pumps for my entire face. It gives a slightly cooling sensation when applied and does not feel sticky once absorbed due to its gel-cream texture. There is no strong white cast like some sunscreens, although you can clearly see your face lightening up a little. This is a good everyday sunscreen that wears well under makeup!
Deoproce CC Color Combo Cream (P1,590)
Want to even out your skin tone without actually wearing foundation? This color correction face base promises sun protection of SPF50 PA+++ while covering issues like redness, freckles, and pimple marks. While it looks like just another product in a pot, the dispensing system is actually very hygienic and well-designed. The product is released through a top hole by twisting, and a single twist is enough for a full face application.
As the name suggests, the cream is supposed to blend with the skin's natural tone. The shade I have is No. 21 Natural Beige, which is normally way too light for my medium skintone. This one however is a workable shade that is easily warmed with bronzer. They also have a No. 23 Sand Beige shade available, which is darker and more yellow than this one. The product comes out white from the container but changes color upon contact with the skin due to the pigments that burst when massaged onto the skin.
The CC Color Combo Cream blurs pores and minor imperfections but has the tendency to stick to filaments. It has very minimal transfer once it dries to a demi-matte finish, which is a plus for me as I really dislike wearing base products that transfer all over. This is another lovely base for everyday use as it provides light coverage with SPF.
Deoproce Multi-function Snail Recovery Cream (P1,270)
Snail mucus in skincare is not as shocking as it was a few years ago as many Korean brands have come out with multiple versions of snail-infused products. For this multi-functional cream, the star ingredient is said to help repair damaged skin cells and provide intensive moisture. It also has whitening and anti-wrinkle properties.
While the cream looks “heavy” at first glance, it goes on light on the skin when applied in moderation. I’ve been using this on my face and I intentionally skipped the toner, essence, and serum steps for the first few days to see if the cream alone will provide enough moisture on the skin and I’m happy to report that it does! I will still layer this with the other steps though as each product addresses different concerns, but I feel like the cream does a good job even when used on its own. The tub is quite big too at 100g! My only issue with it is that I wish they provided a spatula for hygienic reasons, but I can always just dip a cotton bud into it.
