An ode to my favorite eyebrow pencil

I've tried so many eyebrow formulas at this point, but I always keep coming back to pencils. They're the fastest to work with and delivers near flawless results most of the time. Staying power, while variable, remains generally good across different brands. Truly, it's hard to go wrong with a feathery pencil in a shade that matches you!

My current eyebrow pencil crush is the Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Eyebrow Pencil (P1,195 in Beauty Bar). If you're not yet familiar with Koh Gen Do, it's a Tokyo-based brand that's pretty much the open secret of many professional makeup artists. Their foundations (which I've been longing to try) have so many raves! I recently got hold of their new eye makeup in Beauty Bar and the eyebrow pencil immediately stood out.

This is a buttery soft brow pencil that allows me to draw on beautiful, feathery brows that look absolutely natural. It's very easy to work with as a few strokes get me to the level of pigmentation I need, while providing a lot of structure to my look. Staying power is pretty good at about six hours on my combination oily skin, but if I need to wear it ALL day (10+ hours) I just apply a water-resistant brow mascara on top to set it in place.

There are three shades available - 01 Light Brown, 02 Brown, and 03 Light Grey. I prefer to use Brown since it's the right level of warmth and pigmentation for my skin tone and hair color, but I do like to add Light Grey (an ashy brown) for more structure if needed.

Serving some serious brow beauty

You do have to be careful when you're applying it as too much pressure will make the tip break off. Remember not to twist out too much product so that you don't accidentally break the tip. I also have to note that this is pretty expensive; at P1,195, you only get 0.07 grams of product. I wish they will include more product in the future or at least offer refills as many Japanese brands do for their eye pencils.

Still, I would say that the Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Eyebrow Pencil is one of the best eyebrow pencils I've tried to date. I just love how it makes my brows look! I also get complimented a lot on them too. ;) Do you think that this is something you will try?
