We tried glossy lids and loved it! Here's how to pull it off

As someone with extremely oily lids, I had to chuckle a little when I found out about the glossy lids trend. Why would anyone want to achieve the beauty disaster that I’d been doing my best to avoid? Several minutes later on Google, I found the answer. I mean, come on! Can we all agree on how stunning this looks?

So I decided to recreate the look to see how this crazy trend would look on me! It's really easy to do and I only needed four items: an eyeshadow palette, a lash curler, mascara, and clear balm.

I used the Neon BYS Eyeshadow Palette, Heavy Rotation Mascara, Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment, and Fashion 21 Eyelash Curler

I did a simple eye makeup by throwing the red and pink eyeshadows from the BYS Palette all over my lid. I chose lighter, brighter colors since a dark glossy lid would look too grunge for daytime.

I made sure to curl my lashes prior to applying the balm so I don’t move any of the wet eyeshadow around.

Using a clean shader brush, I apply the balm over all areas with color.

If you find that the balm erases some of the color, fret not! Just pick up some shadow with your finger and dab over faded areas.

I messed up the edges a little bit, so I used a makeup wipe to make the edges sharper. Finally, apply some mascara on your lashes and you’re good to go!

Surprisingly, I love how it turned out! My balm isn't very glossy, but gives my eyes a brighter, more wide-awake look. It's like a more daytime-appropriate version of shimmer! I can’t wait to recreate it this with a dark smokey eye as my base.
