A blue FOTD with the Air Optix Color Lenses in Green

It's been a while since I posted a proper FOTD on my blog. It's just that I'm always hurrying to leave the house, which means that I don't have time to do anything more complex than cat eyes, eyebrows, contour, and lipstick. Yesterday though I had some extra time plus I was going to a beauty event! I went all out with the eyeshadow and lipstick, because. I can actually say I do this kind of stuff for a living lol.

As usual, I wore my graded Air Optix Color Lenses in Green. I really like how light it feels on my eyes, and doesn't get awkward when I start piling makeup on. It also doesn't dry out during the day - really important when I have so many things to do! I went to an event, picked up a check, picked up loot bag gifts, then went to the mall to buy some more stuff for my workshop this Saturday. I left at 3pm and got home at 10pm but my eyes felt fairly fresh still.

I also made sure that my base would stay in place no matter what. I even forgot to bring a retouch powder (que horror!) but I'm glad that the primer-foundation-powder combo I tried did not leave me in the dust.

Here are the products that I used for this look!

Base. First I applied the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Radiant Primer in Blue to hold everything down whilst brightening my face. I then blended the Shu Uemura The Light Bulb liquid foundation with the Charm Stippling Brush, added some City Color concealer to hide blemishes and eye bags, then set everything with the Shu Uemura Baby Medicated Powder. The powder is translucent and absorbs oil really well!

Cheeks and contour. I contoured with the Ingot blush in AMC 52, a nice light tan shade, then added a sheer pink glow with the new Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Lovely Pink on my cheeks.

Eyebrows. I forgot to include it in the picture, but I used the Pixi Brow Palette here with the Charm angled eyebrow brush. I set it with a brow mascara from The Face Shop.

Eyeshadow. I first primed with the NARS Pro Prime so that the eyeshadows have something to adhere to. Then, I picked up a shimmery electric blue from the Smashbox On The Rocks palette and applied it all over my lid. I used a matte navy blue from the same palette to contour on the crease of my eyes, then blended it all up using a matte pink beige color. To finish, I picked up a shimmery seafoam green from the Smashbox palette then patted it right in the middle of my lids for more dimension.

Blue is a challenging eyeshadow color to wear, but the trick is not to take it too seriously. Don't let it go past the crease, and blend everything seamlessly!

Eyeliner and mascara. I used a glittery smoky gray eyeliner from Make Up For Ever called the Aqua Liner in #17. I curled my lashes with a Shu Uemura tool then coated each lash hair with the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara.

Lips. I used the latest summer color from Make Up For Ever, the Aquarouge in #21. It's a bright bubblegum pink that's a fun antithesis to the intense blue on my eyes.

So there you go, a true blue old school FOTD. Remember when beauty bloggers did this sort of thing all that time? Those were the mid-2000s, haha. I hope you enjoyed the look!
