It's all about "K-beauty" this week as Kim, Kat, and Kylie bring our hearts to a full stop with so many exciting news! There's that, plus an extremely important announcement just yesterday from Deciem that is expected to help them keep up with the huge and ever growing demand for their products. On the local front, we have homegrown brands improving and expanding access to their products so that more Filipinas can enjoy proudly Pinoy beauty. It has been such a crazy good week for the beauty world, so read up and don't get left behind!

The Extraordinary Success Of An Ordinary Brand

In a post on its Facebook page yesterday, Deciem, The Abnormal Beauty Company announced that beauty industry giant The Estée Lauder Companies has acquired a minority stake in the multi-brand company. With a fresh inflow of capital, Deciem expects to lessen production delays and the months-long waiting list for cult-favorite brands The Ordinary and NIOD. The 4-year-old company was quick to assure fans that the infusion would not change their well-loved formulations, brand philosophies, or founder/CEO Brandon Truaxe.

If that wasn't enough to set your heart racing, hot on the heels of this news was another that heralded the opening of their very first US store! It will be located in New York City but details for the opening date have not yet been revealed.

Nothing Kim-pares

It's literally becoming difficult to keep up with them as another Kardashian steps into the beauty world! Kylie better watch out because older sister Kim Kardashian-West has announced that she’s coming out with her own makeup line, and it’s already going to be released this month! Officially called KKW Beauty, the makeup brand is set to launch on June 21, giving us barely enough time to plan our purchases and save up accordingly. 

If you're interested, their website is available for email sign ups so you can get the latest news on what’s to come. So far, a cream contour and highlight product has been teased - making us one step closer to getting that perfectly chiseled Kim K look. The contour and highlight will be available in 4 shades (light, medium, dark and deep dark), making it more accessible for more skin tones. We’re definitely hoping for brow gels and a base that will help give us that Kardashian coverage!

Pat McMatte

Well, this is going to get spendy. After the successful launches of her Glitter Lip Kits and Dark Star Eye Kits, legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath is coming out with another new product that’s sure to be a hit both on and off the runway. The high fashion artist is releasing her Lust: MatteTrance Lipstick Collection, which features three different sets of highly-pigmented lipstick trios. Skin Show, Colour Blitz, and Vicious Venom offer a selection of nudes and deep plums, reds and pinks, so there'll be a perfect shade for everyone!

The lipsticks are inspired by runway models that the artist has worked with but mostly we're lusting after the luxe black casing and gold lip detail. No word yet on the release date or price, but we are so looking forward to the swatches!

Kylie’s Summer Sizzle

Not one to shy away from the spotlight, Kylie Jenner is amping up her cosmetics game by releasing an entire summer collection for her makeup line. She revealed the massive launch on her Snapchat and fans freaked out! The Vacation Collection of Kylie Cosmetics will feature tons of new products, including the Ultra Glow loose highlighting powder that will come in three shades: Tahiti (rose gold), Santorini (silver), and Fiji (bronze). She’s also bringing back a Matte Lip Kit in June Bug (orchid purple), and a Take Me on Vacation Kyshadow Palette that features 16 reformulated shadows (mattes and shimmers)!

She’s also releasing the Send Me More Nudes Set that includes 4 liquid lipsticks in both a matte and velvet finish, with shades like Naked (fawn), Birthday Suit (caramel-toned beige), Commando (deep peach nude), and Bare (rosy nude). There will also be new Super Glitter Glosses in Glitz (deep rose gold) and Glamour (yellow gold), which promise to give a super shiny, foil-like finish on the lips. There’s also the Wet Stuff Palette that has 4 creamy “wet-like” highlighting powders, and lastly, the Skinny Dip Face Duo contour and highlight kit. The entire Vacation Collection is now available on the Kylie Cosmetics site.
