Beauty Roundup: Disney MAC40 Now In PH, Blk Cosmetics’ New Tool, Vitanature+ Dandruff Solutions, and Boscia Closes With Giant Sale

This week’s roundup of beauty news is here! MAC Cosmetics’ 40 Disney Bring Backs is now available in the Philippines. Local brand Blk Cosmetics released a new blender tool designed with versatility and precision in mind. We also get to meet vitanature+, a Thai brand that blends science with botanical ingredients for an effective dandruff solution. Clean beauty brand Boscia shockingly announced their closure.

Disney x MAC40 is here!

In last month’s Beauty News Roundup, I shared that MAC Cosmetics was celebrating their 40th anniversary by bringing back 40 of their bestselling collaborations with Disney. I’m happy to report that the first batch of the Limited Edition MAC40 Disney Favorites is now available locally online and in-store! If something catches your eye, I highly recommend that you grab it ASAP–all items are limited-edition releases. Don’t miss them this time around!

If you’re a fan of neutrals and Cinderella is your Disney Princess of choice, you definitely can’t miss this limited edition lineup. It was originally released in 2015 in conjunction with the Disney live-action movie starring Lily James. The Cinderella Lustreglass Lipstick Royal Ball (P1,500) is a sheer pink nourishing lipstick with a shine finish. The Cinderella Eye Shadow Palette: Stroke of Midnight (P2,100) features six (6) neutrals and golds in Frost, Matte and Veluxe Pearl textures. If you’re looking for something more versatile, the MAC Pigment  in Pretty It Up (P1,500) is a dark bronze loose powder pigment that can be used as a sheer wash of color or as a liner. All three come in the Cinderella Lavender Blue packaging with gold embellishments.

If you missed the 2019 MAC collaboration with Disney’s live-action movie Aladdin, now’s your chance! The collection is inspired by Princess Jasmine’s unapologetically elegant beauty and the regal colors of Agrabah. Aladdin Matte Lipstick in Princess Incognito (P1,400) is a neutral pinky rose lipstick in MAC’s original matte formula. If you’re looking for sparkle, Aladdin Lipglass in Jewels on Jewels (P1,400) is a warm pink gloss with gold sparkles! Jasmine's Wish Eye Shadow Palette (P3,100) has nine (9) smoky metallic and desert shades.

Of course Disney movies would be nothing without the villains. If you missed the MAC Venomous Villains 2010 collection, catch Maleficent’s signature lippies now. Maleficent Amplified Creme Lipstick in Dark Deed (P1,400) is a beautifully deep burgundy plum.  If you like a little sheen, try Maleficent Lipglass in Wrong Spell (P1,400), a deep plum hue with a shimmery pink pearl finish.

I cannot stress this enough: if you like something from this collection, act fast! Once these are off the shelves, they’re gone for good. But the good news is that this is only the first wave. Looking very much forward to the next batch!

Blk’s new blending tool is a quadruple threat

Beauty blender sponge tools have evolved over the years. Initially, it came in a teardrop shape. But now, it comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors! It’s difficult to stand out, but I daresay Blk’s new Precision Multi-Blender (P299) caught my eye.

When they said multi-precision, they meant it. The sponge has four sides designed for precision blending on different parts of the face. It also works well for liquid, cream, and powder products. Gotta love a single blending tool that does it all!

Vitanature+: eco-friendly, botanical scalp treatment alternative

If you find that Thai beauty products agree with you, you have to try vitanature+. It’s new to the country, but you will more likely be familiar with its sister brands Snailwhite and Oxecure. Vitanature+ delivers the best of nature’s botanicals with tried-and-tested modern skin care ingredients. The brand also cares for the environment by minimizing their carbon footprint in everything from production to packaging. They even allocate part of their revenues to a nonproft that promotes reforestation!

Boscia closes down with a bang (for your buck)

Sad news: skin care brand Boscia is closing down for good. I first came to know about their preservative-free botanical products via sephora.ph. Considered a pioneer in clean beauty, Boscia created botanical-infused formulas without synthetic preservatives and artificial fragrances. The company filed for bankruptcy, and then abruptly announced on their website and social media that they were closing. Along with this came a 55% sitewide sale on boscia.com. I would never advocate for hoarding, but if boscia products are a vital part of your skin care lineup, get them while you still can.

And that’s it for this week’s beauty news roundup! See you next week on the next one.
