A whole new world (of makeup)

With the full-length trailer finally out, it’s no surprise that a makeup collection would also soon be revealed. MAC Cosmetics has once again teamed up with Disney to launch a limited edition 3-piece collection inspired by a classic animation. The gorgeously gold-packaged MAC x Aladdin Collection includes a 9-pan eyeshadow palette with colors that Princess Jasmine would be happy to sport, a bright fuchsia matte lipstick, and a brilliant bronzer with an embossing of the iconic magic lamp. MAC has yet to release the official names, prices, and deets on what else is included in the collection, but we’re eagerly awaiting the drop on May 16. Talk about a wish come true!

Sister act

Fresh off of her crowning as “America’s Youngest Self-Made Billionaire”, it looks like Kylie Jenner is proving once again why she is taking over the beauty world. Kylie Cosmetics may only be four years old but that hasn’t stopped the company from growing into the cosmetics giant that it is today. One thing we’ve noticed: Kylie has launched successful collaborations with all of her family members, except supermodel sis Kendall. In a recent Instagram live, Kylie excited fans as she teased a collab with her big sis! The mogul explained that Kendall had been under a cosmetics contract, which is why a collection hasn’t yet surfaced. Now that they’ve “sorted things out”, we can expect to see a collab soon! We’re hoping that, with Kendall’s minimalist approach to makeup, this collection will include some neutrals and a bright orange red lippie!

Dropped and cancelledt

Influencer and YouTube star Olivia Jade Giannulli has been having a rough couple of days and things have just taken a turn for the worse. The 19-year-old has been embroiled in a scandal of college admission bribery, and her influencer collabs have fallen through. Sephora has pulled out the highlighter and bronzer palette that they collaborated on for the Sephora Collection, and stated that they had terminated the partnership “effective immediately”.

A few hours later, TRESemmé also released a statement announcing their termination, and Estée Lauder followed the next day, ending Olivia Jade’s affiliation with Smashbox and Too Faced. We’ve yet to see if other brand partners such as Marc Jacobs Beauty will soon follow suit. Do you think they should?

Kat fights back

Amid allegations of promoting white supremacist ideals and anti-vaccination messaging, Kat Von D has released a YouTube video denying that she is a Nazi and anti-vaxxer. In the 11-minute video, the beauty mogul said that her family has been hurt by accusations of anti-Semitism that were started by a jealous Miami Ink co-star.

She also clarified that the now-deleted Instagram post expressing her wish to raise her child “without vaccinations” were borne out of a first-time mom’s worries over the research she had read, and that she and her husband have since consulted with a pediatrician about the matter. She further stated that she was "choosing not to make [their decision on vaccination] or any of [their] baby’s health records public."
