A K-Beauty Brand That Can Beat The Philippine Heat? Barenbliss is Perfect for Us Sweaty Filipinas

This story is brought to you by Barenbliss

Barenbliss first caught the attention of Filipinos through a series of viral TikTok videos. The transformations were so dramatic, the results so immediate, that it seemed too good to be true. I'll admit, I was skeptical at first - could any product really smooth skin in just three seconds, or was this just the magic of video editing? That skepticism lasted until I tried Barenbliss for myself.

So, what is Barenbliss, you ask? Pronounced as "bare-en-bliss", it's a K-beauty brand founded by Korean and Chinese makeup artists, with an aim to empower everyone to feel the joy in their beauty routine. They believed in science-backed formulations, so they’ve bid adieu to over 2000+ harmful ingredients, and welcoming a new era of clean, safe skincare that’s designed to cater to all skin types.

Awards and Accolades: Barenbliss's Glittering Journey

Barenbliss has been on a roll since it first launched in South Korea in 2021. Their Berry Makes Comfort Lip Matte (P399) made a mark by winning the The Editor’s Pick of Allure. Not to mention, they also opened their first store on Shopify, marking the start of their international presence.

In the same year, they stepped into the Indonesian market with a bang. Their Peach Makes Perfect Lip Tint (P399) won the hearts of Indonesian beauty enthusiasts and clinched the Beautynesia Reader’s Most Favorite Korean Lip Tint Award. They made their products available through online stores like Shopee, Sociolla, Tiktok, Lazada, and beauty counters in Guardian and Watson.

By 2022, Barenbliss had already made its mark in Malaysia and Thailand. Their Bloomatte Complexion series caught the attention of VOGUE South Korea, earning a headline feature.

Finally, the brand made its way to the Philippine market, bringing its award-winning products and philosophy of clean beauty to the sweaty Filipinas.

The Perfect Skin-But-Better Companion: Barenbliss True Beauty Inside Cushion

The Barenbliss True Beauty Inside Cushion (P899) is, in my honest opinion, the makeup-related answer to this summer heat wave we’re experiencing right now. Lightweight with a natural finish, it evens out skin tone and manages to stay put in the face of the relentless Philippine sun.

At first it seems like it’s not doing much because of its sheer coverage, but later on you notice it just giving skin a more even appearance and a glowy (but not oily finish). I really like how this doesn’t just slide around despite being a cushion formula; it’s comfortably, and it sets quickly.

I love the puff it comes in. It soft and does the job well, so it’s very easy to retouch any time! The shade I use is 02 Medium Blossom Bud which just melts into my skin while adding a bit of brightening.

Achieving that Filtered Look In Real Life: Barenbliss Fine To Refine Compact Powder

Then we have the Barenbliss Fine To Refine Compact Powder (P599), a compact that feels like a personal photo editor. I’m not kidding! Its ultra-smooth texture gives your skin a filtered look, blurring out pores quite effectively. It offers some light coverage while still looking incredibly natural. I’ve tested this for up to 10 hours and it just still looks fresh even after all day wear. Of course, you must blot and retouch as needed. I find I need to retouch every four hours, which is still pretty great.

This powder is so good and I swear by it. I mean, just look at me hitting pan on it! I’ve also finished up my first cushion compact. For the powder, I use the shade 03 Warm Beige Nectar; it’s a great match.

And that’s it! I love these bases and will definitely keep using them for my daily makeup. I even enjoy them for event makeup, just because my skin looks so good wearing them both together, AND staying on all day. So yes, try these Barenbliss products out if you haven’t yet!

Barenbliss is available on Shopee, Lazada, Tiktok, and Watsons stores nationwide.
