Rave: Etude House Wonder Pore Line

My main skin problem of late is pore blockage. I had dull, rough, and bumpy skin full of icky blackheads. Ugh. You see I hug my dog a lot, and I have also been trying a lot of new face makeup, hence the dirty pores. I unfortunately haven't had time to get a facial so I limped along with my mild cleansers and go-to exfoliator. No toner.

That is, until I started using the Etude House Wonder Pore skincare line. This stuff is AMAZING. Absolutely amazing. I searched for reviews of the older Wonder Pore toner and most of them were positive so I was encouraged to use the rest of the line, which included a new mousse facial wash and clay mask. I'm so glad I did it!

This review is gonna be long since I will talk about all three products, but to summarize: the Etude House Wonder Pore line delivers its promise to clean up pores and refine skin without drying it up like a flaky prune. After using it for just a few days, my skin felt like it just shook off all the dirt and product build-up, and it became smooth and glowy once more. After two weeks, my skin has majorly improved. I will definitely buy when I run out!

Here's a more in-depth review of each product in the line. :)

The Etude House Wonder Pore Whipping Foam (P798) is a facial cleanser that can also double as a mask. To apply, just slather it all over your skin and then massage it where your pores are most blocked. You can also use this special brush that comes with the set (awesome stuff!) to really deep clean your skin.

This mousse wash is very dense yet soft. It has a gentle soapy smell, nothing irritating. It doesn't sting my eyes too! Surprisingly, this is not drying at all. My skin doesn't feel tight after I rinse it off. As promised, it cleans skin wonderfully.

Note: it has a tingly minty feel, which I like. But if your skin reacts to menthol or if you just don't like the feel of it, this may be a deal-breaker.

MUST-BUY! This brush is super soft and fun to use. It's P248.

If you wish to use it as a mask, put on a thick layer and wait 1-2 minutes. Wash off. I haven't tried this and I'm not too sold on the idea - I would rather use the actual clay mask, it works perfectly.

The Etude House Wonder Pore Clay Clear Mask (P678) ideally comes after the wash, around 2-3 times a week. It provides a more intense cleansing experience for your skin. It starts off as a puffy mousse, which makes it easier to spread, but it dries up into a hard mask after 15-20 minutes.

The mask comes with its own spatula

I feel that it draws up all the blackheads and effectively removes them. I highly recommend this for those who have seriously clogged pores!

Tip: if you find it too time-consuming to wash off a hard mask like this, use a vegetable facial sponge! It does the job quicker.

Ahh, and here is the original star of the show! The Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner (P98 in spray bottle, P478/250ml) was released a few months ago and was an instant hit. It's a toner, basically. It has alcohol content, but it doesn't sting or feel too matapang. It's just like putting water on your face.

Remove the rubber stopper before using

Push down to get the liquid on your cotton ball! Two pumps are enough.

I love that it doesn't dry my skin and that it removes all remaining traces of makeup. My skin feels softer and smoother with it so that's a major point. I don't use it all the time though - only when I wear makeup beforehand!

The bottle is also great since the ingenious pump gets you the right amount of product without you having to tilt it.

After using the Wonder Pore line for two weeks, my skin looks like this:

Granted I am wearing makeup, but you know that saying about bad skin still looking bad even with a lot of makeup? My skin is super smooth and glowing now! I don't even get pimples anymore (I used to get one or two every week).

Yes I know these are big claims. I just really super love this line. That feeling might change in the next weeks to come but right now Wonder Pore has done so much to turn my skin around. There is one downside: because my pores are super clean, I am now oilier than usual. Not so much that it's a deal-breaker, but I thought you should know.

This set, which includes the Whipping Foaming, Pore Freshner, and brush, is P1,548

Do note that what works for me may not work for you, so please use this upon your discretion. I'm just sharing my personal experience with the product; I have no way of predicting yours. I do hope this works for you as much as it did for me - it's a great skincare line, and for me, definitely worth buying. :)

Hope this helps!
