Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte Lipstick in M PK 335

I love how matte lipsticks look but I don't like how they feel on the lips. They're heavy, thick, and drying if I don't prime my lips properly with a hydrating balm. They're less comfortable compared to glossy lipsticks but in exchange they last waaay longer and leave a pretty stain.

One lipstick that I'm really digging is the new Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte Lipstick in M PK 335 (P1,285). It feels like silicone primer on the lips - indeed, it's silicone-based! - so it's cushy, soft, and not at all heavy. Trivia: this lipstick's main ingredient is dimethicone, a type of silicone oil that is largely used in shampoos to keep hair smooth and shiny. It's safe, don't worry! I just think it's neat.

Aaanyway. This matte lipstick lasts super long and doesn't fade completely even after eating. It doesn't transfer too much on glasses and utensils, plus, it's not drying. However, if you have flaky lips, expect the flakes to make a nasty appearance after a few hours. It's just the milky pink color though (it's never flattering on dry lips), not the formula.

Ahh, the color. M PK 334 is a lavender pink that's definitely not for everyone. This will work only for fair to light medium tones - on me, it's already a stretch! It looks more lavender when I just wear it with neutral makeup, but when I have a smoky eye on and some blush, it comes out more pink. So yes, if we have the same tone, wear this with heavy eyes to keep the color from washing you out.

Nonetheless, I love the shade. It's unexpected, uncommon. I already have a large collection of lippies so I'm happy to have something like this, but if you intend to blow P1,000+ on a Shu Uemura lipstick, go for a more classic, flattering shade like the ones below.

I highly recommend that peach nude (IT'S PERFECT! I wanted so badly to get it but I already have nice nudes), the true red, and the hot pink. You will get a bang for your buck if you get can't-go-wrong shades like this!

Overall, I think the Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte Lipstick is amazing. I haven't tried anything like it, even among other high end brands, due to its unique silicone base. Try it if you're looking for a luxe lippie that will serve you loyally in the parties to come this season.

If you like the shade I featured, I happen to have a drugstore dupe - not exactly the same as it's more pink but it's close. I'll show you soon. It's not as comfy as Shu, but hey there's a reason the lipstick is over a thousand bucks. ;)

Sooo whaddaya think? Does this look like something you'd try? What's your most offbeat lipstick shade ever?
